Scale Leveling and Calibration
In order for the mass flow calibration to be accurate, the Scale must be level and calibrated. The Scale is
located under the Dispensing Calibration Module (DCM). The Scale is leveled and calibrated at the
Asymtek factory prior to shipping, but it may be necessary to re-level and calibrate it if the dispensing
system has been moved, if you are experiencing mass flow calibration errors, or if any components have
been changed or moved.
CAUTION! The following procedures should only be performed by a trained
service technician.
Tools and Materials Needed
• 1.5-mm Hex Key • Isopropyl Alcohol
• 2.5-mm Hex Key • Circular Level
• 4-mm Hex Key • Clean, Lint-Free Cloth
• 9/64-inch Hex Key • Lab Gloves
• Short Flat Blade Screwdriver • Tweezers
• Set of Standard Weights*
? NOTE *Standard weights must be in good condition and have recent certification indicating
their tolerance. They should be traceable to the National Bureau of Standards or
equivalent governmental department.
To determine if Scale leveling is required:
? NOTE The dispensing system must be installed and leveled before performing this procedure.
Refer to the Power-up and Testing section of this manual for leveling instructions.
1. Locate the Weigh Station on the DCM. See Figure 6-3.
2. Remove the Weigh Station Cover, banjo wiper, and plastic cup.
3. Verify no fluid is on the top of the Scale Pedestal. If so, carefully remove and clean the
Pedestal and verify that there is no fluid on the Scale mechanics.
> If there is fluid on the Scale mechanics, contact Asymtek Technical Support.
4. If dirty, clean the inside of the Weigh Station and Pedestal with isopropyl alcohol.
5. If the Pedestal has been removed, carefully replace it on the Balance Mechanism.
CAUTION! The Scale mechanics are very delicate. Avoid forcing the Pedestal into place or
the Scale will be damaged.
