5-44 Power-up and Testing
Scale
If your dispensing system is equipped with a Scale, perform the following procedure to make sure that it
is ready for operation.
1. Open the Front Cabinet Door and verify the green power LED on the Scale Interface Box
behind the Computer is illuminated.
> If the LED is not illuminated, refer to “Troubleshooting Components” in the
Troubleshooting section of this manual.
2. Close the Front Cabinet Door and open the dispensing system Hatch.
3. Remove the Weigh Station Cover, banjo wiper, and cup.
4. Inspect the Scale Pedestal area to see if fluid has been spilled around the Scale.
CAUTION! Fluid spilled in and around the Scale Pedestal may seriously affect Scale
accuracy. Excessive pressure on the Pedestal while attempting to clean spilled
fluid may cause damage to sensitive Scale mechanics. Contact Asymtek
Technical Support before attempting to clean the Pedestal area.
5. Remove the three 1.5-mm screws attaching the Circular Level inside the well on the top of
the Dispensing Calibration Module (DCM). See Figure 5-13.
6. Place the Circular Level on top of the Pedestal and check the position of the bubble.
> If the bubble is not centered, refer to “Scale Leveling and Calibration” in the Calibration
and Adjustment section of this manual.
> If the bubble is centered, the Scale is level. Go to Step 7.
7. Reinstall the Circular Level into the well on the DCM with the three 1.5-mm screws removed
in Step 5. Apply removable thread locker and torque to 8 in-lbs (0.09 kg-m)
8. In the FmNT Main Window, click on the
Configuration button and select Setup Scale.
9. In the Scale Setup dialog box, click on the
Scale Operations tab. See Figure 5-23.
10. In the Scale Operations dialog box, click on the
Zero Scale button and monitor the Current
Reading portion of the dialog box.
> The current reading should be 0.000 mg.
11. Reinstall the cup and banjo wiper onto the Scale Pedestal and then replace the Weigh
Station Cover.
> The current reading should indicate an increase in weight. If it does not, refer to
“Troubleshooting Components” in the Troubleshooting section of this manual.
12. Perform Scale calibration in accordance with the procedure in the Calibration and
Adjustment section of this manual.
