Dispensing Valve
(DJ-9000 shown)
Also referred to as a “pump” or “jet”. Dispenses fluid onto the
workpiece. Refer to the applicable dispensing valve manual for
detailed information.

Needle Sensor Assembly
Part of the dispensing calibration module (DCM). Consists of
• A slot with fiber-optic sensors to measure dispensing valve
needle/nozzle position in the X- and Y-axes.
• A tactile sensor that measures needle/nozzle position in the
Z-axis.
Fluidmove software uses this information to automatically
compensate for changes in needle location. Allows the operator to
change needles and continue production without reprogramming the
system. Refer to 3.8 Needle Sensor for additional information.

Weigh Station
(X-1020 only)
Part of the dispensing calibration module (DCM). Weighs the amount
of dispensed fluid and sends the information to the Fluidmove
software for mass flow calibration. A disposable plastic cup inside of
the purge station holds the dispensed fluid. Refer to 3.10 Weigh
Station for additional information.
8 Purge Station
Part of the dispensing calibration module (DCM). Cleans the
dispensing needle/nozzle and purges the dispensing valve at user-
defined intervals. A disposable plastic cup inside of the purge station
holds the purged fluid. Refer to 3.11 Purge Station for additional
information.

Conveyor
Moves the workpieces through the dispensing system on o-ring belts
at software-programmable speeds. The conveyor rails are height and
width adjustable. The conveyor is SMEMA compatible. Refer to 3.2.2
Conveyor Features for additional information.

Height Sensor
(mechanical type shown)
Measures substrate height and sends a signal to the system
computer. The height information is used to position the dispensing
needle an exact distance above the workpiece surface. Two types
are available:
• Mechanical (standard)
• Class 2 laser (optional)

Fluid Syringe
Mounted near the dispensing valve and contains the fluid to be
dispensed.
