friendliness of your PL3000 yet being a little bit in contradiction to each other, that

Before you begin, open the ‘Power’ control panel applet (see the section
‘Control Panel’ on page 30).
To set timeout value for screen
backlight blanking in backlight’s ‘Auto
on-off’ mode:
1. Select ‘Schemes‘ page by tapping
the ’Schemes’ tab.
2. Select ’Power Scheme’ to which
your timeout change applies, either
‘Battery Power’ or ‘AC Power’. That
is, a source of electricity on which the
device is running determines when
the setting is in use
3. Select the ’User Idle Timeout’ value
being appropriate for your needs (for
more information on ‘Never’ settings
value, see section ‘Power States’ /
‘On’ on page 44)
4. Press the ‘ok’ key; new timeout value is set.
Note! Three timeout values for transition from one power state to another,
which can be specified on the ‘Schemes’ page, are associated with each
other (for more information, see section ‘Power States’ on page 43). In
addition to the fact that the ‘Never’ settings value disables the feature of
saving battery energy using the backlight blanking, it also disables all the
transitions to lower power states.
