Making Your Configuration Settings Permanent
If you want to make persistence of your configuration changes, you may use
the Registry Backup to store them permanently. Before you begin, open the
Registry Backup -utility, see ‘Accessing Registry Backup’.
Note! If you make changes to the system properties using control panel
applets, the volatility of the changes is not unambiguous after closing the
applet. As a general rule the settings modified by an applet are not
persistent. However, there are applets such as the Wi-Fi and the
Bluetooth Device Properties that incorporate setting features that makes
the changes permanent when the value is changed in the registry (for
background information, see the section ‘REGISTRY’ on page 26).
To make the changes in
Registry permanent:
1. Set keypad focus on the
‘Backup Registry’ button,
if not set, by using the ‘up-
arrow’ key
2. Press the ‘ok’ key
3. Wait until the Registry
Backup utility informs you
that it is finished with the
operation.
4. Press the ‘ok’ key to close
the message window
5. Set keypad focus on the
‘Quit’ button by the ‘down-
arrow’ key
6. Press the ‘ok’ key to close
the utility
Now your configuration settings are stored in the non-volatile memory.
