STEP 1: Measure 2 x 4 On four pieces of 2 x 4, measure and mark 43" in for the stand. Measure and mark 24”on four more pieces for the legs. STEP 2: Measure Lumber for Sway Brace Measure and mark 23” on two pieces of 1 x 6 for the sway brace and 24” on the dowels. STEP 3: cut Lumber Using a miter saw, cut the four pieces of 2 x 4 lumber at the 43” marks for the stand and four pieces at the 24” marks for the legs. For the sway brace, cut the two pieces of 1 x 6 pine boards at the 23” marks.

STEP 6: Mark the lumber On the 43” pieces, place marks at 1” and 2-1/2” across the bottom of the lumber. Mark the center at 2”, 14”, and 26” from the top. At those marks, also mark the center for those screw points. Repeat for all four 43” pieces. STEP 7: Drill holes at screw points At the screw points, drill 1/2" deep with the 1-1/2" spade bit. Measure and place tape on the bit if you're concerned about drilling too deep.

STEP 11: Begin assembling equipment Place the stand piece next to the 1 x 6 piece. Then place the 23” sway brace on top of the 1 x 6 piece and attach the sway brace on both sides using a 2-1/2” screw. STEP 12: Attach legs to stand Predrill holes on the 24” marks on the legs, then attach them to the stand using 2-1/2” screws. STEP 13: Stain the Lumber Apply stain to the lumber and let dry completely. Apply a coat of polyurethane for added durability.
