Safety GLASS PARTS The device screen is made of glass. This glass can break if the device is dropped on a hard surface or receives a substantial impact. If the glass breaks, do not touch the glass parts of the device or attempt to remove the broken glass from the device. Stop using the device until the glass is replaced by qualified service personnel. PROTECT YOUR HEARING To prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen at high volume levels for long periods.

Get started Insert the SIM card Important: This device is designed to be used with a mini-UICC SIM card, also known as a micro-SIM card only. A micro-SIM card is smaller than the standard SIM card. Use of incompatible SIM cards may damage the card or the device, and may corrupt data stored on the card. Do not use SIM cards that have been modified to fit the micro-SIM holder. To replace a standard SIM card with a micro-SIM card, contact your service provider. Do not attach any stickers to your SIM.
Get started 9 5 Make sure the contact area would face down, put the SIM into the holder, and lower the holder. 6 Slide the SIM holder to lock it. 7 Line up the battery contacts, push the battery in, and replace the back cover. Remove the SIM 1 Switch the phone off. 2 Remove the back cover. 3 If the battery is in the phone, lift it out. 4 Open the SIM holder, and pull the card out. Insert a memory card Memory cards are available separately.
Get started 1 2 Make sure the phone is switched off. Place your fingernail in the gap on the bottom edge of the back cover, then carefully lift and remove the cover. 3 If the battery is in the phone, lift it out. 4 Slide the memory card holder to unlock it. Use your fingernail to lift the memory card holder. 5 Make sure the contact area would face down, put the memory card into the holder and lower the holder. Memory cards are available separately.
Get started 6 Slide the memory card holder to lock it. 7 Line up the battery contacts, push the battery in, then replace the back cover. 11 Remove the memory card 1 Switch the phone off. 2 Remove the back cover. 3 If the battery is in the phone, lift it out. 4 Open the memory card holder, then pull the card out. Charge the battery Your battery has been partially charged at the factory, but you may need to recharge it before you can switch on your phone for the first time.
Get started You can use USB charging when a wall outlet is not available. Data can be transferred while charging the device. The efficiency of USB charging power varies significantly, and it may take a long time for charging to start and the device to start functioning. You do not need to charge the battery for a specific length of time, and you can use the phone while it is charging.
Get started 13 Slide the lock key. Tip: To unlock, you can also press the menu key, and drag the lock screen left or right. If you connect an external device or headset, other than those approved by Nokia for use with this device, to the Nokia AV connector, pay special attention to volume levels.

Touch tags to get more content for your phone or to access online services. Play multi-player games against other owners of compatible phones that support NFC. Basic use 29 Search your phone and the internet Explore your phone and the internet. You can search for mail, contacts, photos, music, or apps stored on your phone and on the internet. You need an active internet connection. Tip: You can add a search widget to the home screen.

Camera and photos You can also use your phone to view or edit photos and videos, share them on the internet, or send them to compatible devices. Tip: You can take photos even when your phone screen and keys are locked. Press the camera key for 1 second to grab your photos on the fly.
Camera and photos 1 2 33 Press the camera key halfway down to lock the focus on an object (not available in landscape or sports modes). A green locked focus indicator is shown. If the focus is not locked, a red focus indicator is shown. Release the camera key, make sure the object is within the brackets, and press the camera key halfway down again to lock the focus. You can also take a photo without locking the focus. Press the camera key fully down.
Camera and photos Take a close-up photo It can be tricky to get small objects, such as insects or flowers, in focus. You need to move the camera closer to the object. To take sharp and precise photos of even the tiniest details, use close-up mode. 1 2 3 To open the camera, press the camera key. Make sure you are in the Scenes shooting mode. To switch the mode, select Scenes. Select . > Take a photo in the dark To take photos even in dim light, switch to night mode.

Telephone Video calls are a network service, and to make a video call, you need to be in a 3G network. For info on availability and costs, contact your network service provider. Video calls can only be made between two parties. Video calls cannot be made while another voice or video call is active. Make a video call to a contact > Contacts and the contact. 1 Select 2 In the contact card, select Video call. The front camera is used by default for video calls. Starting a video call may take a while.
Telephone 55 If you do not start sending video, you only hear the voice of the caller. A grey screen replaces your own video. Start sending live video during a video call > Enable > Sending video.
