Display interface

Display module mechanical concepts

Main display features:

• 16M colours (24-bit mode)

• partial display function power saving by pausing display process on part of the screen

• no full-image built in RAM, so display accelerator is needed

The display has two different operating modes:

1 normal mode, full screen, 16M colours

2 normal partial mode, 8 colours but only part of the display is active

Sub display features:

• 64k colours (16-bit mode)

• No separate partial mode for power saving. The sub display is set to sleep mode when not used.

The interconnection between the main LCD module and the PWB is implemented with a 50-pin board-to-

board connector. The sub display interconnection has 10-pin board-to-board connector.

Displays do not require any tunings in service.

Display and keyboard backlight

The device uses the internal LED driver in N2300 to drive main display 6 LEDs.

The keyboard is illuminated by EL-sheet and is driven by N4430.

The sub display backlight is powered by charge pump type of power supply D9150.
