The interface between BRF 6150 and Nokia BB assumes that all higher layers above the HCI (host controller
interface) are implemented in Nokia BB and all other layers (BB, Link Manager, Link Control, and component
RF) below the HCI are implemented in BRF 6150.
Clock signals
BRF 6150 requires a system clock, which it uses to derive all its internal timing. The clock may be sinusoidal
or square and the frequency tolerance is +/-20 ppm. The external TCXO clock oscillator is used for the system
clock with a sinusoidal output.
SD card
SD card is supplied with 3V supply voltage. The detection of SD card removal/insertion is done by a switch in
the card connector.
Removing SD card while writing to card may corrupt data in SD card. Switch is directly connected to host and
it gives an interrupt to the SW while the status of the switch is changed.
User interface
Display interface
Display features:
• Up to 16M colors within 352 x 416 pixels
• Partial display function Power saving by pausing display process on part of the screen.
The display has two different operating modes:
1 Normal mode, Full screen, up to 16M colours
2 Partial mode, 260k colors but only part of the display is active with 8 colours
The display module does not require any tunings in service.
Keyboard
Joystick
The joystick has one dome for select and four springs for directions. When any direction is selected there are
always select and two direction switches connected.
Flip Keyboard
So called T9 keyboard and left side of qwerty keyboard are implemented in flip. VBAT is supplied to flip via
load switch.
Data between the flip and engine is transferred thru I2C interface. Three coaxial cables are used in flip
engine connection.
