RFMD RF5191 power amplifier implements amplification of the transmit signal to required power levels.
RF5191 amplifier is connected to VBAT.
The PA includes power detector for closed-loop power control purposes. Other parts in discrete front-end
include RF switches, baluns and band filters.
The transmitter section of WLAN module contains integrated baseband filter, mixer and a driver amplifier
with a variable output power.
The RF signal of WLAN module is filtered before PA. The signal goes after the (PA and TX/RX/Bluetooth
switches) to the RF bandpass filter.
The receiver is a direct conversion receiver. The received input signal is filtered with a ceramic bandpass filter
after which the TX/RX switch selects the receiver branch.
A balun before WLAN module transforms the single-ended signal to the balanced type. The IQ-modulator
down converts the signal into I and Q signals.
The channel filtering is performed with a low pass filter. The reference signal (38,4MHz) from the TCXO is
input to the WLAN module circuit (synthesizer). The RF oscillator core is running at double frequency, 5GHz.
A desired TX frequency of 2.4 GHz is generated by decreasing LO frequency by half.

STLC4370A includes energy management IC that generates the required from the battery voltage VBAT. The
management unit has the following features:
• Four LDOs: 2 × 1.8 V, 2.8 V, 1.2 V
• Stepdown (disabled in STLC4370A)
• Stand-by mode for reduced quiescent current
• Power ON/OFF management
• Level-shifting for RF switches
• Thermal shutdown
