13 Manage phone security
Your phone is equipped with different security features that allow you to
do the following:
• avoid making accidental calls,
• prevent unauthorized use of your phone, and
• restrict outgoing or incoming calls.
• LOCK THE KEYPAD (KEYGUARD)
The keypad lock (Keyguard) disables your keypad
to prevent accidental key presses (for example,
when your phone is in your pocket or purse).
• To lock the keys, press
Menu

then .
• To unlock the keys, press
Unlock
,
then .
Note:
Keyguard does not prevent unauthorized use of your phone.
Note:
Connecting your phone to a car kit automatically
disables Keyguard.
Note:
When Keyguard is on, calls may be possible to emergency
numbers (for example 911 or other official emergency number).
Key in the emergency number and press . The number is
displayed only after you have keyed in its last digit.
