Configuration settings—Select Configuration and the default service provider for
retrieving multimedia messages. Select Account to see the accounts provided by the
service provider. If more than one account is displayed, select the one that you want
to use. You may receive the settings as a configuration message from the service
provider. To receive the settings as a configuration message, see "Configuration
settings service," p. 8. To enter the settings manually, see "Configuration," p. 37.
Allow—to choose to allow the reception of messages defined as advertisements.
This setting is not shown if Allow multim. recept. is set to No.
Font size settings
To select the font size for reading and writing messages, select Menu >
Messaging > Message settings > Other settings > Font size.
Message counter
To view how many messages you have sent and received, select Menu >
Messaging > Message counter. Select Sent messages or Received messages,
or select Clear counters to clear the counters.
■ Contacts
You can save names and phone numbers (contacts) in the
phone memory and in the SIM card memory. The phone
memory can save names and numbers. Different details (text notes) can be
associated with each name. You can also attach an image to a limited number of
names. Contacts use shared memory. See "Shared memory," p. 7.
Names and numbers saved in the SIM card memory, are indicated by .
Contact settings
Select Menu > Contacts > Settings > Memory in use, Contacts view, or
Memory status.
Search for a contact
Select Menu > Contacts > Names.
Save names and phone numbers (Add contact)
Select Menu > Contacts > Add new contact. Enter the name and the phone
number, and select Done.
