ST_NFC_TEST
Contains
two tests
; one for verifying NFC chipset functionality, and one for verifying tag reading
functionality. The tag reading test result can only be seen in the Phoenix details. This is done in normal
production, as there are no tags in the production line for verifying test success. Tag reading is a manual
test case.
Return values: PASS - NFC Self tests passed
FAIL - NFC self test failed (at least one)
Note: The tag reading test fails if there is no tag on field – in
these cases the result of complete NFC_test is Passed.
Tests bits used in test details: Bit 0x01 set when NFC Chip self tests fails
Bit 0x04 set when Tag read test fails (this do not occur fail)
ST_NFC_SECURECHIP_FUNC_TEST
Contains
two tests
for verifying secure element chip functionality. The secure element state in the
phone is verified by checking if a secure element is present, and if its serial number can be read
Note: This test ignores whether the key population is done (like phones coming from factory) or not
(like spare NFC Module boards before key population). Fail means always that Secure Element is not
working properly.
Return values: PASS - Secure element is functional and responds to commands
FAIL - Secure element does not respond to commands (either test
fails)
Tests bits used in test details: Bit 0x01 set when NFC Chip self tests fails
Bit 0x04 set when Tag read test fails (this do not occur fail)
ST_NFC_SECURECHIP_INIT_TEST
This test case checks if secure element key population has been done. Key population is done by using
the pre stored key population data in the MCUSW content package. When this key population data has
been present and key population has done successfully this test return PASS.
Note: This test will only tell that if key population is done or not – if this test fails it does not
necessarily mean that secure element is defected (like if phone is not meant to be used for payment
& ticketing purposes).
Return values: PASS - Secure element key population has been done OK
FAIL - Secure element key population is not done
Tests bits used in test details: Bit 0x10 is set in when SE key population has not been done
For service: If NOK replace NFC Module board.
For repair analysis: If OK follow the NFC troubleshooting diagram
3. Visual inspection
Check visually that there are no open pads in the NFC Antenna connector board solderings.
