Introduction to NFC troubleshooting
If there are defective or missing components on the NFC Module board, the entire board will have to be
replaced.
Note: Do not flash operator specific software only for testing! After replacing the NFC Module board,
initialization/formatting of the smart MX component can only be done once.
Perform the NFC troubleshooting in the following order:
1 Tag reading
2 Visual inspection
3 Selftests
4 Follow the NFC troubleshooting diagram (only for Repair Analysis)
NFC troubleshooting for service
Steps
1. Tag reading
i Place the tag on any non-conductive material (eg. glass, plastic, wood).
Note: Do not place tags on metal or other conductive surfaces, as it may prevent the reader from
being able to read the tags.
ii Touch the tag with the phone, like shown in figure "NFC tag detection". Repeat 3-4 times.
Note: Remember to set Tag Detection ON (go to Active standby and select Tag Detection ON)
