1. Get started ■ Remove the back cover and battery Note: Always switch off the power and disconnect the charger and any other device before removing the cover. Avoid touching electronic components while changing the cover. Always store and use the device with the cover attached. 1. Place the back of the phone towards you. 2. Press and slide the back cover towards the indicated direction. 3. Lift the battery from its compartment.
■ Replace the battery and back cover 1. Insert the goldcolored contact end of the battery into the battery slot. 2. Push down on the other end of the battery to snap it into place. 3. Replace the back cover so that the cover tabs align with the slots in the phone. Slide the back cover towards the indicated direction. ■ Insert and remove the microSD card Use only compatible microSD cards approved by Nokia for use with this device. Your device supports microSD cards up to 2 GB.
memory cards, but some brands may not be fully compatible with this device. Incompatible cards may damage the card and the device and corrupt data stored on the card. To insert the microSD card: 1. Lift open the microSD slot cover. 2. Insert the card firmly. The card clicks into place. To remove the card, firmly press against the card until it releases from the card slot and then slide it out. Important: Do not remove the memory card in the middle of an operation when the card is being accessed.
■ Charge the battery 1. Connect the charger to a wall outlet. 2. Connect the charger to the device. 3. When the device indicates a full charge, disconnect the charger from the device, then from the wall outlet. You do not need to charge the battery for a specific length of time, and you can use the device while it is charging. If the battery is completely discharged, it may take several minutes before the charging indicator appears on the display or before any calls can be made.
■ Turn your device on or off To turn your phone on or off, press and hold the End/Power key for at least 3 seconds. ■ Antenna Your device may have internal and external antennas. As with any radio transmitting device, avoid touching the antenna area unnecessarily while the antenna is transmitting or receiving. Contact with such an antenna affects the communication quality and may cause the device to operate at a higher power level than otherwise needed and may reduce the battery life.
■ Connect the headset Do not connect products that create an output signal as this may cause damage to the device. Do not connect any voltage source to the Nokia AV Connector. When connecting any external device or any headset, other than those approved by Nokia for use with this device, to the Nokia AV connector, pay special attention to volume levels. A compatible headset may be purchased with your device or separately as an accessory. 1. Open the headset connector port. 2.
Warning: When you use the headset, your ability to hear outside sounds may be affected. Do not use the headset where it can endanger your safety. ■ Access code To configure access code settings, select Menu > Settings > Phone > Security, and enter your default lock code. See "Security settings", p. 48. If you forget the code and your device is locked, your device will require service and additional charges may apply. For more information, contact a Nokia Care point or your device dealer.

1. Signal strength — Indicates the strength of the signal. 2. Go to — Press the left selection key to access a list of your favorite applications. 3. Menu — Press the middle selection key to access the main menus. 4. Names — Press the right selection key to access your contacts list. 5. Battery strength — Four bars indicate a fully charged battery. To access the Calendar menu, press the scroll key up. To access the Messaging menu, press the scroll key down.
■ Indicators and icons Depending on your device settings and modes, some or all of the following indicators and icons may appear in the standby mode. To view how to access the complete glossary, see "Phone details", p. 51. You are in a digital network. You are in an EVDO only network. You are in a 1xRTT network. You are in a 1x/EVDO network. You are in an EVDO/D only network. Flight mode is on. You are roaming outside your home network. SSL security feature is on. Voice privacy is activated.
Voice call: a call is in progress. Bluetooth is on. Battery level. All sounds off. Alarm only is on. Vibrate mode is on. Loudspeaker is on. You have missed calls. There are new messages in your inbox. A calendar appointment is set. There are new voicemails. Alarm clock is on.
3. Call functions ■ Make a call 1. Enter the phone number, including the country code and area code, if necessary. To delete a character, press the clear key. 2. Press the send key to call the number. Use the volume keys to adjust the volume of the earpiece or headset during the phone call. 3. To end the call, press the end key. ■ Answer or reject a call To answer an incoming call, press the send key. To reject the call, press the volume keys down until Silent mode is displayed.
■ 1-touch dialing To dial a single-digit 1-touch dialing number (1–9), press and hold the number of the assigned key. To dial a multi-digit 1-touch dialing number (10-999), press the first number(s), and press and hold the last number. To assign 1-touch dialing numbers, see "1-touch dialing", p. 31. ■ Loudspeaker To use the loudspeaker during a call, press the loudspeaker key. To turn the loudspeaker off, press the loudspeaker key again.
4. Text entry Your device offers five methods for entering texts, numbers, and symbols: Word, Abc, ABC, 123, and Symbols. • Press the left selection key to change the text entry mode. • Press the clear key to backspace the cursor and delete a character. • Press and hold the clear key to delete an entire word. • Press # to enter a space, or to accept a completed word in Word mode. • Press * to change the character case in word or Abc mode.
• If the displayed word is not correct, press 0 to view other options. • If the desired word does not appear, delete your entry, and enter the word in Abc mode. 2. Press # to confirm a word and insert a space. ■ Abc (ABC) mode Press a key repeatedly until the desired letter appears. ■ Enter special characters and punctuation marks To scroll through some common punctuation marks and special characters in Abc mode, press 1 repeatedly.
5. Call log Information about missed, received, or dialed calls is stored in the Call log menu. When the number of calls exceeds the maximum, the most recent call replaces the oldest. To view a call log, select Menu > Call log and from Missed calls, Received calls, Dialed numbers, All calls, and Call duration. To reset all timers (except Lifetime calls and Lifetime data) in Call duration, select Clear all.
6. Contacts Contact entries can be assigned to 1-touch dialing keys, picture IDs, ringtones, and groups. ■ Create new contacts 1. Select Menu > Contacts > Add new contact. • To add the name of the contact, scroll to the Name: field, and enter a name. • To add a phone number for the contact, scroll to the Mobile 1:, Home:, Work:, Mobile 2:, or Fax: field, and enter a number. The default phone number is Mobile 1.
• To assign a ringtone for the contact, scroll to the Ringing tone: field, select Set and the desired ringtone. 2. Select Save. To quickly create a contact in the standby mode, enter the number and select Save > Save new contact. ■ Contact list To view the contact list, select Menu > Contacts > Names. Contact list options In the standby mode, select Names > a contact > Options, and from the following: Add new contact — Create a new contact. Delete contact — Delete the contact.
Send business card — Send the contact as a business card to another device via Bluetooth. Delete all — Delete all contacts. ■ Groups To access the Groups menu, select Menu > Contacts > Groups. A contact can only be associated with one group at a time. Create a new group Select Menu > Contacts > Groups > New, enter the new group name, and select Save. Add contacts to a group 1. Select Menu > Contacts > Groups. 2. Scroll to a group, and select View > Add. 3.
Send a group message To send a message to a group, select Menu > Contacts > Groups, scroll to a group, and select Options > Send text message, Send picture message, or Send video message. Your network must support this service in order for the feature to work. ■ 1-touch dialing You can associate any mobile, home, or work entry in the contact list with a 1-touch dialing location from 2 to 999. This is network service. To use 1-touch dialing, you must first activate the 1-touch dial feature.
4. Scroll to the mobile, home, or work number you want to assign, and select OK > Yes. ■ Emergency contacts Your device contains three preset numbers as emergency contacts. You can call emergency contacts even if your device is locked. See "Security settings", p. 48. Call an emergency contact To call an emergency contact, select Menu > Contacts > Emergency, scroll to an emergency contact, and select Call.
7. Gallery In Gallery you can manage images, video clips, music files, themes, graphics, tones, recordings, and received files. Digital rights management Content owners may use different types of digital rights management (DRM) technologies to protect their intellectual property, including copyrights. This device uses various types of DRM software to access DRMprotected content. With this device you can access content protected with OMA DRM 1.0.
■ Personalize your device To use a tone, select Menu > Gallery > Tones, scroll to a tone, and select Set as and from the available options. To use a multimedia file, select Menu > Gallery > Images, Videos, Music files, or Sounds, scroll to a file, and select Options and from the available options. ■ Transfer multimedia files to your device All multimedia files must have a file name no longer than 32 characters.
To transfer videos to your device you must first create the folder "my-flix" on your microSD card. You must do this by inserting the microSD card into your computer. When the folder exists in your microSD, you can then save videos from your computer to the folder "my_videos." Remove the microSD from the computer, insert the microSD card into the phone, and then select Menu > Gallery > Videos to use your files.
8. Messaging Messaging features are network services. Note: The message sent icon or text on your device screen does not indicate that the message is received at the intended destination. ■ Text messages A message that exceeds the character limit is sent as a series of two or more messages. Your service provider may charge accordingly.
3. In the Text: field, write a message. An indicator at the top left of the display shows the total number of characters left. 4. Select Send, or press the send key. Read and reply to a text message When you receive a message, a notification and are displayed. Select OK to read the message, or Exit to dismiss the notification and read the message later from the Inbox folder. If necessary, scroll up or down to view the whole message.
Priority level — Set the priority level. If the priority level is set to high, Urgent appears at the top of a received message. ■ Multimedia messages A multimedia message can contain text, sound, a picture, and a video clip. Depending on your network services, you may receive a message that includes an internet address where you can view the multimedia messages. Only compatible devices that have compatible features can receive and display multimedia messages.
Compose and send a multimedia message 1. Select Menu > Messaging > Create message > Picture message or Video message. 2. In the To: field, enter the recipient’s phone number. 3. In the Text: field, write a message. An indicator at the top of the display shows the total number of characters left. 4. To add a picture, scroll to the Image: field, select Images, and the desired picture. To add a new picture using the built-in camera, select Images > Options > New image > Select. 5.
7. To add a message title, scroll to the Subject: field, and enter text (up to 80 characters) using the keypad. 8. To send the message, select Send, or press the send key. To save the message as a draft, press the end key, and select Yes > OK. Your message is saved in the Drafts folder. Multimedia message options When the cursor is in the Text:, Image:, Sound:, or Subject: fields, select Options and from the following: Preview — View your message. Use template — Insert text from the Templates folder.
■ Voicemail message Voicemail is a network service. When you have a new voice message, your device alerts you, and you are prompted to listen now or later. If you select Listen later, the Voicemail icon is displayed in the standby mode. To listen to a new voice message, select Listen now > OK. To access your voice mailbox, select Call. The number of new messages and the date and time of the last message received are displayed. To reset the voicemail counter, select Clear.
Activate and deactivate delivery note To send a delivery report to your device each time a text message is sent, or to turn this function off, select Menu > Messaging > Settings > Delivery note > On or Off.
9. Downloads You can use this menu to manage and download Downloads applications that may be offered by your service provider. These are network services. Select Menu > Downloads to connect to the service.
10. Browser You can use the browser for music and tones downloads. These are network services. For availability, subscription, and charging rates, contact your service provider. To start a browser session, select Menu > Browser. Your device attempts to connect to your wireless service provider’s home page. If you receive an error message, your device may not be set up for browsing. To make sure that your device is configured properly, contact your wireless service provider.
11. Settings ■ Display settings You can create a personal banner, adjust the backlight and contrast, set the wallpaper and theme, change the main menu view, dial font size, and clock format, and activate calendar preview. To configure display settings, select Menu > Settings > Display. Backlight To set how long the display and keypad backlight remain on before dimming, select Menu > Settings > Display > Backlight > Display or Keypad, and the desired time interval.
Clock format To set the clock format on your device’s main display or mini display, select Menu > Settings > Display > Clock format > Main clock or Mini display clock, and the desired clock format. Calendar preview To display calendar appointment details in the standby mode, select Menu > Settings > Display > Calendar preview > Main screen > On. If Off is selected, is displayed in the standby mode.
Answer options To determine how calls may be answered on your device, select Menu > Settings > Call > Answer options and from the following: When fold is opened — Answer the call by opening the fold. Anykey answer — Answer the call by pressing any key on the keypad. 1-touch dial To activate 1-touch dialing of assigned numbers, select Menu > Settings > Call > 1-touch dial > On. 1-touch dialing allows you to quickly dial a contact. See "1-touch dialing", p. 31.
Security settings You can use this feature to protect your device from unauthorized outgoing calls or unauthorized access to information stored in the device. To secure the device electronically, select Menu > Settings > Phone > Security, enter the preset lock code 1234 or the last 4 digits of your mobile directory number (depending on your Network Provider), and select from the following: Edit codes — Change the security code.
Network settings To set your device to roam or search for another network when you are not in your home area, select Menu > Settings > Phone > Network > Automatic. ■ Bluetooth Bluetooth technology enables wireless connections between electronic devices and can be used to send and receive images, texts, gallery files, voice recordings, video clips, notes, and more. This device is compliant with Bluetooth specification 2.0, supporting the following profiles: HSP V1.1 (Headset Profile), HFP V1.
Security tips • Operating the device in hidden mode is a safer way to avoid malicious software. • Do not accept Bluetooth connectivity from sources you do not trust. • Alternatively, switch off the Bluetooth function. This does not affect other functions of the device. Bluetooth connectivity To activate Bluetooth connectivity, select Menu > Settings > Bluetooth > On. An active Bluetooth connection is indicated by at the top of the display.
You can also edit your device name and business card, configure settings for file sharing and receiving, and access the Bluetooth inbox. Select Menu > Settings > Bluetooth > Options. ■ Memory To view the amount of phone and card memory you are using for file storage, and to configure save options, select Menu > Settings > Memory. ■ Phone details To view your device number, device version details, and the icon glossary, select Menu > Settings > Phone details.
12. Media ■ Camera Keep a safe distance when using the flash. Do not use the flash on people or animals at close range. Do not cover the flash while taking a picture. • To capture an image, press the camera key, and select Take. • To adjust camera settings, select Options and from the available options. • To discard, send, or save the image you have captured, select Delete, Send, or Save. ■ Video To record a video, press and hold the camera key, and select Rec. To finish video recording, select Stop.
• To discard, send, or save the video you have captured, select Delete, Send, or Save. ■ Music player To listen to music with the music player, select Menu > Media > Music player. ■ Voice recorder 1. To record a new sound clip, select Menu > Media > Voice recorder > OK. 2. To finish recording, select Stop. Your recording is saved to Menu > Gallery > Sounds.
13. Organizer ■ Alarm Clock You can set up to three alarms. The alarm sounds even when the device is switched off. To set an alarm: 1. Select Menu > Organizer > Alarm clock > Alarm 1, Alarm 2, or Alarm 3. 2. To activate the alarm, scroll to the Set on/ Set off field, and scroll left or right. 3. To enter the time of the alarm, scroll to the Set time field, and use the keypad to adjust the time. 4. To set how often the alarm will occur, scroll to the Frequency field, and scroll left or right. 5.
To set the alarm to vibrate without sound, press the volume keys to Vibrating alert. See "Your device", p. 18. When an alarms goes off, to turn the alarm off and have it sound again after 10 minutes, select Snooze. To turn off the alarm, select Dismiss. ■ Calendar You can schedule events and appointments into the calendar and set your device to alert you with a reminder. Add an appointment 1. Select Menu > Organizer > Calendar, scroll to the date, and select Add. 2.
■ Calculator To use the calculator, select Menu > Organizer > Calculator. • Use the keypad to enter numbers. • Use the scroll key to add (up), subtract (down), multiply (right), or divide (left) values. • To solve your equation, select Equals. • To use parentheses in your equation or to enter an exponent (Power), select Operator. • To delete a keystroke, press the clear key. • To cancel your calculation and clear the screen, select Clear. • To switch a value to positive or negative, press #.
14. Accessories Warning: Use only batteries, chargers, and accessories approved by Nokia for use with this particular model. The use of any other types may invalidate any approval or warranty, and may be dangerous. For availability of approved accessories, please check with your dealer. When you disconnect the power cord of any accessory, grasp and pull the plug, not the cord.
15. Battery and charger information Your device is powered by a rechargeable battery. The battery intended for use with this device is BL-5C 1020 mAh Li-Ion battery. Nokia may make additional battery models available for this device. This device is intended for use when supplied with power from the following chargers: AC-6U travel charger. The exact charger model number may vary depending on the type of plug. The plug variant is identified by one of the following: E, EB, X, AR, U, A, C, or UB.

Keep your battery out of the reach of small children. ■ Nokia battery authentication guidelines Always use original Nokia batteries for your safety. To check that you are getting an original Nokia battery, purchase it from a Nokia authorized service center, and inspect the hologram label using the following steps: Authenticate Hologram 1.

Care and maintenance Your device is a product of superior design and craftsmanship and should be treated with care. The following suggestions will help you protect your warranty coverage. • Keep the device dry. Precipitation, humidity and all types of liquids or moisture can contain minerals that will corrode electronic circuits. If your device does get wet, remove the battery, and allow the device to dry completely before replacing it. • Do not use or store the device in dusty, dirty areas.
• Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents to clean the device. • Do not paint the device. Paint can clog the moving parts and prevent proper operation. • Use a soft, clean, dry cloth to clean any lenses, such as camera, proximity sensor, and light sensor lenses. • Use only the supplied or an approved replacement antenna. Unauthorized antennas, modifications, or attachments could damage the device and may violate regulations governing radio devices. • Use chargers indoors.
Disposal The crossed-out wheeled-bin symbol on your product, literature, or packaging reminds you that all electrical and electronic products, batteries, and accumulators must be taken to separate collection at the end of their working life. This requirement applies to the European Union and other locations where separate collection systems are available. Do not dispose of these products as unsorted municipal waste.

2. Press the end key as many times as needed to clear the display and ready the device for calls. 3. Enter the official emergency number for your present location. Emergency numbers vary by location. 4. Press the send key. When making an emergency call, give all the necessary information as accurately as possible. Your wireless device may be the only means of communication at the scene of an accident. Do not end the call until given permission to do so.

No necesita cargar la batería por un periodo específico de tiempo y puede utilizar el dispositivo mientras se carga. Si la batería está completamente descargada, es posible que pasen varios minutos antes de que el indicador de carga aparezca en la pantalla o antes de poder hacer alguna llamada. Nota: El teléfono sólo debe conectarse a productos que tengan el logotipo USB-IF o que hayan completado el programa de cumplimiento con USB-IF.
■ Antena Su dispositivo puede tener una antena interna y una externa. Al igual que con otros dispositivos de radiotransmisión, evite el contacto innecesario con el área de la antena mientras la antena transmite o recibe señal. El contacto con la antena afecta la calidad de la comunicación y puede hacer que el dispositivo requiera más energía de la necesaria para funcionar, lo que reduce la vida útil de la batería.
Puede comprar un auricular compatible al momento de adquirir el dispositivo o comprarlo separado como accesorio. 1. Abra el puerto del conector del auricular. 2. 3. Funciones de llamada ■ Realizar una llamada 1. Ingrese el número del dispositivo con el código del país y el código de área, si es necesario. Para borrar un carácter, pulse la tecla Borrar. 2. Pulse la tecla Enviar para llamar al número. Use las teclas de volumen para ajustar el volumen del audífono o del auricular durante la llamada telefónica. 3. Para finalizar la llamada, pulse la tecla Finalizar. ■ Contestar o rechazar una llamada Para contestar una llamada entrante, pulse la tecla Enviar.
■ Marcación rápida Para marcar un número de marcación rápida de un dígito (1 a 9), mantenga pulsado el número de la tecla asignada. Para marcar un número de marcación rápida de múltiples dígitos (10 a 999), pulse el o los primeros números y mantenga pulsado el último número. Para asignar números para marcación rápida, consulte "Marcación rápida", p. 33. ■ Altavoz Para usar el altavoz durante una llamada, pulse la tecla del altavoz. Para desactivar el altavoz, vuelva a pulsar la tecla del altavoz.
4. Ingreso de texto El dispositivo ofrece cinco métodos para ingresar textos, números y símbolos: Pred., Abc, ABC ,123 y Símbolos. • Pulse la tecla de selección izquierda para cambiar el modo de ingreso de texto. • Pulse la tecla Borrar para retroceder el cursor y borrar un carácter. • Mantenga pulsada la tecla Borrar para borrar una palabra completa. • Pulse la tecla # para ingresar un espacio o para aceptar una palabra completada en el modo Pred.

Pulse la tecla correspondiente del teclado una vez para cada letra. • Si la palabra que se muestra no es correcta, pulse 0 para ver otras opciones. • Si la palabra que desea no aparece, elimine la entrada e ingrese la palabra en el modo a Abc. 2. 5. Llamadas La información de las llamadas perdidas, recibidas o marcadas se almacena en el menú Llamadas. Cuando la cantidad de llamadas excede el máximo, la llamada más reciente reemplaza la más antigua. Para ver un registro de llamadas, seleccione Menú > Llamadas y entre Llamadas perdidas, Llamadas recibidas, Núm. marcados, Todas llamadas y Duración de llamadas. Para restablecer todos los cronómetros (excepto Total de llamadas y Datos de historial) en Duración de llamadas, seleccione Borr. todo.
6. Contactos Las entradas de contactos se pueden asignar a teclas de marcación rápida, ID de imagen, tonos de timbre y grupos. ■ Crear nuevos contactos 1. • Para agregar una ID de imagen para el contacto, desplácese hasta el campo Imagen: seleccione Selec. y la imagen que desea. • Para asignar un tono de timbre para el contacto, desplácese hasta el campo Tono: seleccione Selec. y el tono de timbre que desea. 2. Seleccione Guard. Para crear rápidamente un contacto en el modo en espera, ingrese el número y seleccione Guardar > Guardar nuevo contacto. ■ Lista de contactos Para ver la lista de contactos, seleccione Menú > Contactos > Nombres.
Enviar mensaje: envíe un mensaje de texto al contacto. Enviar mensaje de foto: envíe un mensaje con imagen al contacto. Enviar mensaje de video: envíe un mensaje de video al contacto. Llamada: marque al contacto. Env. tarj. negocios: envíe el contacto como una tarjeta de negocios a otro dispositivo vía Bluetooth. Eliminar todo: elimine todos los contactos. ■ Grupos Para acceder al menú Grupos, seleccione Menú > Contactos > Grupos. Sólo puede asociar un contacto a un grupo a la vez.
Agregar contactos a un grupo 1. Seleccione Menú > Contactos > Grupos. 2. Desplácese hasta un grupo y seleccione Ver > Agregar. 3. Desplácese hasta cada contacto que desee agregar y seleccione Selec > Hecho. Enviar un mensaje de grupo Para enviar un mensaje a un grupo, seleccione Menú > Contactos > Grupos, desplácese hasta un grupo y seleccione Opciones > Enviar mensaje, Enviar mensaje de foto o Enviar mensaje de video. La red debe admitir este servicio para que pueda utilizar la función.
Configurar la marcación rápida 1. Seleccione Menú > Contactos > Marcación rápida. 2. Desplácese hasta una ubicación de marcación rápida que no esté asignada y seleccione Asign.. 3. Seleccione el contacto que desea asignar en la ubicación de marcación rápida. 4. Desplácese hasta el número de móvil, casa o trabajo que desea asignar y seleccione OK > Sí. ■ Contactos de emergencia El dispositivo tiene tres números predefinidos como contactos de emergencia.
7. Galería En Galería puede administrar imágenes, videoclips, archivos de música, temas, gráficos, tonos, grabaciones y archivos recibidos. Administración de derechos digitales Los propietarios de contenido pueden emplear distintos tipos de tecnologías de administración de derechos digitales (DRM) para proteger su propiedad intelectual, incluidos los derechos de copyright. Este dispositivo usa variados tipos de software DRM para acceder a contenidos protegidos con DRM.
El contenido protegido con administración de derechos digitales (DRM) viene con una clave de activación asociada que define sus derechos de uso del contenido. ■ Personalizar su dispositivo Para utilizar un tono, seleccione Menú > Galería > Tonos, desplácese hasta un tono y seleccione Fijar y alguna de las opciones disponibles. Para utilizar un archivo multimedia, seleccione Menú > Galería > Imágenes, Videos, Arch.
guardar imágenes de la computadora en la carpeta "my_images." Retire la tarjeta microSD de la computadora, insértela en el teléfono y luego seleccione Menú > Galería > Imágenes para utilizar los archivos. Para transferir imágenes al dispositivo primero debe crear la carpeta "my-flix" en la tarjeta microSD. Para hacerlo debe insertar la tarjeta microSD en la computadora. Cuando la carpeta ya existe en la tarjeta microSD, puede guardar videos de la computadora en la carpeta "my_videos.
8. Mensajería Las funciones de mensajería son servicios de red. Nota: El icono de mensaje enviado o el texto en la pantalla de su dispositivo no indican que el mensaje haya sido recibido por el destinatario deseado. ■ Mensajes de texto Un mensaje que excede el límite de caracteres se envía como una serie de dos o más mensajes. Es posible que su proveedor de servicios le cobre los cargos correspondientes.
Escribir y enviar un mensaje de texto 1. Seleccione Menú > Mensajes > Crear mensaje > Mensaje texto. 2. En el campo Para: ingrese el número telefónico del destinatario. 3. En el campo Texto: escriba un mensaje. El indicador que aparece en la parte superior izquierda de la pantalla muestra el número total de caracteres restantes. 4. Seleccione Enviar o pulse la tecla Enviar. Leer y contestar un mensaje de texto Cuando recibe un mensaje, aparece una notificación y .
Opciones de mensajes de texto Cuando el cursor esté en el campo de ingreso de texto, seleccione Opciones y alguna de las siguientes alternativas: Guardar como borr.: guarde el mensaje en la carpeta Borradores. Usar plantilla: inserte texto desde la carpeta Plantillas. Nivel de prioridad: defina el nivel de prioridad. Si el nivel de prioridad está configurado en alta, en la parte superior de un mensaje recibido aparece Urgente.
La red celular puede limitar el tamaño de los mensajes MMS. Si la imagen insertada excede ese límite, el dispositivo podrá reducir su tamaño para enviarla por MMS. Para obtener información acerca de los formatos admitidos, comuníquese con el proveedor de servicios. Importante: Tenga precaución al abrir los mensajes. Los mensajes pueden contener software malicioso o dañar de alguna manera el dispositivo. Crear y enviar un mensaje multimedia 1.
4. Para agregar una imagen, desplácese hasta el campo Imagen: seleccione Imágenes y la imagen que desea. Para agregar una nueva imagen con la cámara incorporada, seleccione Imágenes > Opciones > Nueva imagen > Selec.. 5. Para agregar un archivo de sonido, desplácese hasta el campo Sonido: seleccione Sonidos y el sonido que está grabado. Para grabar un nuevo sonido, seleccione Sonidos > Grabar nuevo. El nuevo sonido se agrega al principio de la lista de galería.
Para guardar el mensaje como borrador, pulse la tecla Finalizar y seleccione Sí > OK. El mensaje se guarda en la carpeta Borradores. Opciones de mensajes multimedia Cuando el cursor esté en los campos Texto:, Imagen:, Sonido: o Asunto: seleccione Opciones y alguna de las siguientes opciones: Previa: vea el mensaje. Usar plantilla: inserte texto desde la carpeta Plantillas. Insertar diapositiva: agregue una diapositiva al mensaje. Nivel de prioridad: defina el nivel de prioridad.
■ Mensaje del correo de voz El correo de voz es un servicio de red. Cuando reciba un nuevo mensaje de voz, el dispositivo le avisará y le preguntará si desea escucharlo inmediatamente o después. Si selecciona Escuchar después, aparecerá el icono del correo de voz en el modo en espera. Para escuchar un nuevo mensaje de voz, seleccione Escuchar ahora > OK. Para acceder al buzón de voz, seleccione Llamada. El número de mensajes nuevos y la hora y fecha del último mensaje recibido aparecen en la pantalla.
■ Ajustes de mensajes Para ajustar las configuraciones para los mensajes, en el modo en espera, seleccione Menú > Mensajes > Prog y alguna de las opciones disponibles. Activar y desactivar el aviso de entrega Para enviar un informe de entrega al dispositivo cada vez que se envía un mensaje de texto o para desactivar esta función, seleccione Menú > Mensajes > Prog > Informes de entrega > Activar o Desactivar.
9. Aplicaciones Puede utilizar este menú para administrar y descargar aplicaciones de descarga que el proveedor de servicios puede ofrecer. Éstos son servicios de red. Seleccione Menú > Aplicaciones para conectarse al servicio.
10. Explorador Puede utilizar el explorador para descargas de música y tonos. Estos son servicios de red. Para obtener más información sobre disponibilidad, suscripción y velocidades de carga, comuníquese con su proveedor de servicios. Para comenzar una sesión del explorador, seleccione Menú > Explorador. El dispositivo intentará conectarse a la página de inicio de su proveedor de servicios inalámbricos. Si recibe un mensaje de error, es posible que el dispositivo no esté programado para la navegación.
11. Configuraciones ■ Configuraciones de pantalla Puede crear un título personal, ajustar la luz de fondo y el contraste, configurar la imagen de fondo y el tema, cambiar la vista del menú principal, el tamaño de letra de marcado, formato del reloj y activar la vista previa de la agenda. Papel Tapiz Para configurar la imagen de fondo de la pantalla principal o delantera, seleccione Menú > Prog > Pantalla > Imagen de fondo > Imagen o Video > Pantalla principal o Mini pantalla > una imagen o un video. Formato de reloj Para configura el formato del reloj en la pantalla principal o en la mini pantalla del dispositivo, seleccione Menú > Prog > Pantalla > Formato de reloj > Reloj principal o Reloj de mini pantalla y el formato de reloj que desea.
■ Configuraciones de sonido Para ajustar volúmenes y asignar sonidos a las llamadas y a las alarmas del dispositivo, seleccione Menú > Prog > Sonidos. ■ Configuraciones de llamadas Puede designar cómo el dispositivo administra las llamadas entrantes y salientes, activar el dispositivo de telecomunicación para sordos (TTY), la marcación rápida, las funciones de privacidad de voz y seleccionar la duración de los tonos al tacto.
Marcado rápido Para activar la marcación rápida de los números asignados, seleccione Menú > Prog > Llamada > Marcación rápida > Activar. La marcación rápida le permite marcar rápidamente a un contacto. Consulte "Marcación rápida", p. 33.
Para asegurar electrónicamente el dispositivo, seleccione Menú > Prog > Teléfono > Seguridad, ingrese el código de bloqueo predefinido 1234 o los últimos 4 dígitos del número de directorio móvil (dependiendo del Proveedor de red) y seleccione alguna de las siguientes opciones: Editar código: cambie el código de seguridad. Restricciones: configure la restricción para llamadas entrantes, salientes y mensajes y para la función módem de marcación.
Configuraciones de red Para configurar el dispositivo para que haga roaming o busque otra red cuando no esté en su área doméstica, seleccione Menú > Prog > Teléfono > Red > Automática. ■ Bluetooth La tecnología Bluetooth permite conexiones inalámbricas entre dispositivos electrónicos y se puede utilizar para enviar y recibir imágenes, textos, archivos de la galería, videoclips, notas y más. Este dispositivo cumple con la especificación 2.0 de Bluetooth que admite los siguientes perfiles: HSP V1.
Sugerencias de seguridad • Utilice el dispositivo en modo oculto como una medida más segura para evitar el software malicioso. • No acepte conectividad Bluetooth de fuentes en las que no confía. • De manera alternativa, puede apagar la función Bluetooth; esto no afectará las otras funciones del dispositivo. Conectividad Bluetooth Para activar la conectividad Bluetooth, seleccione Menú > Prog > Bluetooth > Activar. Una conexión Bluetooth activa se indica con en la parte superior de la pantalla.
También puede editar el nombre del dispositivo y la tarjeta de negocios, configurar los ajustes para compartir y recibir archivos y acceder al buzón de entrada de Bluetooth. 13. Organizador ■ Reloj Despertador Puede configurar hasta tres alarmas. La alarma suena incluso cuando el teléfono está apagado. Para configurar una alarma: 1. Seleccione Menú > Herramientas > Alarma > Alarma 1, Alarma 2 o Alarma 3. 2. Para activar la alarma, desplácese hasta el campo Prog enc / Prog apag y desplácese hacia la izquierda o la derecha. 3. Para ingresar la hora de la alarma, desplácese hasta el campo Fijar tiempo y use el teclado para ajustar la hora. 4.
6. Seleccione Guard. Cuando la alarma está programada, aparece en el modo standby. Para apagar una alarma, seleccione Menú > Herramientas > Alarma. • Para eliminar una acción, pulse la tecla Borrar. • Para cancelar el cálculo y borrar la pantalla, seleccione Borrar. • Para cambiar un valor a positivo o negativo, pulse la tecla #. • Para ingresar una coma decimal, pulse la tecla *. Nota: La calculadora tiene una precisión limitada y está diseñada para cálculos sencillos.
14. Accesorios Aviso: Utilice sólo baterías, cargadores y accesorios aprobados por Nokia para este modelo en particular. El uso de otros accesorios puede anular toda aprobación o garantía aplicables y puede resultar peligroso. Comuníquese con su distribuidor para obtener información acerca de la disponibilidad de accesorios aprobados. Cuando desconecte el cable de alimentación de cualquier accesorio, sujételo y tírelo del enchufe, no del cable.
15. Información sobre baterías y cargadores Su dispositivo recibe alimentación eléctrica a través de una batería recargable. La batería indicada para esta dispositivo es BL-5C 1020 mAh Li-Ion. Es posible que Nokia disponga de modelos adicionales de batería para este dispositivo. Este dispositivo está diseñado para su uso con los siguientes cargadores: cargador de viaje AC-6U. Es posible que el número exacto de modelo de cargador varíe según el tipo de enchufe.
Si se usa una batería por primera vez, o si no se usó la batería durante un tiempo prolongado, tal vez sea necesario conectar el cargador, desconectarlo y reconectarlo para iniciar la carga de la batería. Si la batería está completamente descargada, es posible que pasen varios minutos antes de que el indicador de carga aparezca en la pantalla o antes de poder hacer alguna llamada. Apague siempre el dispositivo y desconecte el cargador antes de retirar la batería.
No provoque un cortocircuito en la batería. Puede producirse un cortocircuito accidental si un objeto metálico, como una moneda, un clip o un bolígrafo ocasionan la conexión directa de los terminales positivo (+) y negativo (-) de la batería (éstos parecen tiras metálicas en la batería). Puede ocurrir, por ejemplo, cuando lleva una batería de repuesto en su bolsillo o bolso. El cortocircuito de los terminales puede dañar la batería o el objeto que esté conectado a ella.
El uso inapropiado de la batería podría ocasionar un incendio, una explosión u otro peligro. Si el dispositivo o la batería se caen, especialmente en una superficie dura, y cree que la batería se dañó, llévela a un centro de servicios para su inspección antes de continuar usándola. Utilice la batería solamente para el propósito para el que fue diseñada. No utilice nunca el cargador o la batería si están dañados. Mantenga la batería fuera del alcance de los niños.
Autenticación del holograma 1. Al mirar el holograma en la etiqueta, deberá ver el símbolo de las manos conectadas Nokia desde un ángulo y el logo Nokia Original Enhancements desde otro ángulo. 2. Cuando mueva el holograma hacia la izquierda y la derecha, y hacia arriba y abajo, verá 1, 2, 3 y 4 puntitos en cada lado respectivamente. Completar con éxito los pasos no asegura totalmente la autenticidad de la batería.
¿Qué ocurre si la batería no es auténtica? Si no puede confirmar que su batería Nokia con el holograma en la etiqueta es una batería auténtica de Nokia, no la use. Llévela al centro de servicio autorizado Nokia o al distribuidor más cercano para solicitar asistencia. El uso de una batería no aprobada por Nokia podría ser peligroso y podría resultar en un rendimiento inferior y dañar su dispositivo y los accesorios. También podría invalidar cualquier aprobación o garantía aplicables al dispositivo.
Importante: Los tiempos de conversación y de standby de la batería son sólo estimaciones y dependen de la intensidad de la señal, las condiciones de la red, las funciones usadas, la antigüedad y las condiciones de la batería, la temperatura a la que se ha expuesto la batería, si se la usó en modo digital y muchos otros factores. El tiempo empleado en las llamadas afectará el tiempo de standby de la batería.

Cuidado y mantenimiento Su dispositivo es un producto de diseño y fabricación superiores, y se lo debe tratar con cuidado.
