When either phone number or name is tried to be edited, the characters are
checked. Only correct characters are accepted. If values are read from file and
wrong characters are noticed, error message is shown and the wrong charac-
ters are replaced by question marks.
Accepted characters in the number field are:
• all numbers 0..9; hexadecimal values: 30H..39H
• * (asterisk); hexadecimal value: 2AH
• # (hash); hexadecimal value: 23H
• p, P; hexadecimal value: 70H, 50H
• w, W; hexadecimal value: 77H, 57H
• + (plus); hexadecimal value: 2BH
The accepted characters to ME name field are 0AH..FFH. Characters are
changed between phone and PC character codes when values are received
from ME and before sending to ME. Some DOS versions or code page selec-
tions in PC may cause differences between PC display and ME display.
When function is exited with <Esc> key, the program will ask if the ME short
code memory data is saved to the ME or not. If <Y> key is used, the ME short
code memory data is saved to the ME and exit from the function is done. If
<N> key is used, exit is done from the function and nothing is saved to the
memory of ME. If <Esc> key is used, the function can be continued. If any other
key is used nothing happens.
Information window is shown during writing. The window tells the memory posi-
tion number which is under writing. When all values have been written, waiting
window is removed and ME memory functions menu is shown. The waiting
state can be broken with <Esc> key. If writing to the ME memory is broken, only
part of the values in the ME may be updated.
