Setting TX Coupler Loss Values
If an in–service TX coupler is installed, the coupler loss (e.g., 30 dB)
must be manually entered so it will be included in the LMF TX
calibration and audit calculations and RX FER Test. Follow the
procedure in Table 3-32 to set coupler loss values.
Prerequisites
S LMF is logged into the BTS
S Path loss, in dB, of the TX coupler must be known

Step Action
1 Click Util in the BTS menu bar, and select Edit > Coupler
Loss... in the pull–down menus.
–A tabbed data entry pop–up window will appear.
2 Click on the TX Coupler Loss tab or the RX Coupler Loss
tab, as required
3 Click in the Loss (dBm) column for each carrier that has a
coupler and enter the appropriate value.
4 To edit existing values, click in the data box to be changed
and change the value.
5 For each tab with changes, click on the Save button to save
displayed values.

Click on the Dismiss button to close the window.
NOTE
S Values entered or changed after the Save button is used will
be lost when the window is dismissed.
S The In–Service Calibration check box in the Tools >
Options > BTS Options tab must be checked before
entered TX coupler loss values will be used by the TX
calibration and audit functions.
S New or changed values will be used by the LMF as soon as
they are saved. Logging out and logging in again are not
required to cause saved changes to take effect.
