The NIU status is indicated by the two front panel LEDs, one green and one red,
controlled by the on-board processor, as shown in Table 6-4.

Off Off NIU not powered up or in reset cycle.
Off On Normal operation.
Flashing Flashing NIU undergoing system code download.
On On NIU self testing following switch on or
reboot.
Red LED extinguishes after 20 seconds, or
after 50 seconds following a reboot due to
code download.
