RemovethebercoverattachedtotheBCUIIcardcagefrontleftcorner .
Thetwoscrewssecuringthebercoverarelocatedjustinsidetheopen
frontpaneldoor(seeFigure8-4).UsingaT20TORXbitanddriver,loosen
andremovethetwoscrews.Graspthebercoverandpullitawayandout
fromtheBCUIIcardcage.

Locatethegroundwire,withthedoubleholelug,attachedtotheBCUIIcard
cagefrontleftcornerjustinsidetheopenfrontpaneldoor(see).Disconnect
thegroundwirelugbyusinga10mmsocketandratchettoloosenandremove
thetwoM6nutsthatsecurethegroundwirelugtothethreadedstuds.

NOTE
Multiplecablesarebeingdisconnectedfromtheconnectors.If
necessary ,usemaskingtapeandamarkerandtemporarilytag
eachcableastotheproperconnectorbeforedisconnection.
Disconnecttheber-opticcablingandanyothercablingfromthefrontofthe
Modemcards.Forber-opticcableconnectionsperformthefollowing:
1.GrasptheopticaltransceiverbytheconnectorattheModemcard.
2.Depresstheopticaltransceiverconnectorreleaseandpullthe
transceiver,alongwiththecable,outoftheModemcardreceptacle.

Pulloutthelooseendsofber-opticcablesthroughthegrommetopenings.
Movetheber-opticcablesandthedisconnectedgroundwirewithlugoutof
thefrontoftheBCUII.
DressthesecablesawayfromthefrontoftheBCUII.

RemovetheBCUIIrackmountingscrewsasfollows:
1.Usingtheappropriatedriver ,loosenandremoveallbutoneofthe
screwsineachsidemountbracket.
2.WhilesupportingtheBCUIIcardcage,removetheremainingscrewin
eachsidemountbracket.

GrasptheBCUIIcardcageandpullitpartiallyoutoftheframetoaccess
therearpanel.

DisconnectallofthecablesconnectedtoconnectorsontherearoftheBCUII.
Thesecablesinclude:
•Cableconnectedtotheinputpowerconnectorlocatedonthelowerleft
cornerofthePSU.

CompletelypulltheBCUIIcardcageoutoftheframeandmoveittoawork
surface.
