NOTE
Multiplecablesmustbedisconnectedfromconnectors.If
necessary ,usemaskingtapeandamarkerandtemporarilytag
eachcableastotheproperconnectorbeforedisconnection.
Disconnecttheber-opticcablingfromthefrontofthefailedModemcard.
Forber-opticcableconnectionsperformthefollowing:
1.GrasptheLCduplexconnectoranddepressthereleasetoremovethe
bercablesfromtheberoptictransceiver .
2.Removetheberoptictransceiverfromthemodem:pulldownonthe
beroptictransceiverlatchandpullitoutoftheslot.

Dressalldisconnectedcablesoutoftheway .

Simultaneouslypressthelockingtabsonbothcardejectorlatches.Rotate
bothcardejectorlatchesoutfromthecardtodisengagethecardfromthe
BCUIIcage.

GrasptheModemcardfrontpanel.PullthecardawayfromtheBCUIIcard
cage.SlidethecardoutoftheBCUIIcardcage.
PerformthefollowingproceduretoinstalltheFlex4Modem.

InserttheModemcardintotheBCUIIcardcageasfollows:
1.InserttheModemcardside-edgesintothecardslotrails.
2.Rotatethecardejectorlatchescompletelyoutfromthecardfrontpanel.
3.SlidethecardcompletelyintotheBCUIIcardcage.
4.Makesurethatthecardrear-edgeconnectorsfullyengagewiththe
matingbackplaneconnectors.
5.Simultaneouslypressbothcardejectorlatchesintothecardfrontpanel.
Aclickisheardandfeltwheneachejectorlatchlockingtabengagesthe
cardfrontpanelandseatsthecardintothecage.

Reconnectallber-opticcablingtothecorrespondingconnectorsonthefront
oftheFlex4Modem.Iftheopticaltransceiverisbeingreplaced,perform
thefollowing:
Grasptheopticaltransceiverinonehandandtheber-opticcable
connectorinthehand.Depresstheber-opticcableconnectorrelease
andpullthecableconnectoroutofthetransceiver.
