Control Devices - Individual Control

Click "Add to shared", enter the account to share devices
with, and click OK to finish. To stop sharing with an
account previously added, press and hold to delete in
Android, or slide to the left to delete in IOS.
1. Click "Create Group" under "More" on a selected device
page, as shown in Fig. 1.
2. The page displays all devices with the same model
number and available to be added as a group. Select a
device and click Save, then enter group name and click
OK to finish, as shown in Fig. 2.
3. When a group has been created successfully, the page
will be automatically redirected to the group control panel
in Fig. 3, where grouped devices can be managed.

1. Groups that have been created can be viewed on the
"My Household" page, and managed with hotkeys.
2. Open the group control panel as shown in Fig. 2.
3. Click "..." at the top right corner to configure or remove
groups, as shown in Fig. 3.

Click the "Smart Scenes" at the bottom of page-Fig 1, then
enter into the next page-Fig 2, click "+" at the top right
corner and select "Automation" to go to the smart
configuration page, as shown in Fig. 3
Click "+" as shown in Fig. 3 to add multiple conditions or
multiple actions.

Add condition:
For example, to add temperature as a condition, select
temperature as shown in Fig 1, configure temperature-
related conditions as shown in Fig. 2, and then click
“Next" to add the condition as shown in Fig. 3.

Add action:
Click "Add action" or "+" at the top right corner to open the
menu, as shown in the following Fig. 1. There are four
action types: scenario, automation, device, and push
notification
Conditions and actions of automation can all be set up
as shown in following Fig. 2.
The system primarily supports three types of automation:
1. Inter-device synchronization, such as turning on the
aroma diffuser and air purifier automatically at the same
time the A/C unit is turned on.
2. External environment and device synchronization, such
as turning on the A/C unit automatically when the
temperature falls below 0°C.
3. Timed actions, such as drawing back the curtains
drawn automatically at 8:00 am every morning.

Select a scenario as shown in Fig. 1 and go to the
configuration page. As shown in Fig. 2, you can edit the
scenario name. Click "Add action" or "+" at the top right
corner to add an action.
The action menu is shown in Fig. 3. Configuration is similar
to that of automated devices.

To configure a scenario with "Trigger automation", you
must set up an automated scenario in advance. If existing
automation options are available as shown in Fig. 1, select
"Trigger and activate" or "Trigger and deactivate".
Then, click "Next" and enter scenario name, and click
“Save" at the top right corner to finish configuration.

Previously configured automation and scenarios are
displayed in the "Smart Features" page.
Click "Edit" at the top left corner to modify existing
scenarios and automated devices.
For example, click "Modify scenario" to go to the page
shown in Fig. 2, where the order of scenarios can be
changed and scenarios can be deleted by sliding left.
(In iOS, click "-" on the left of scenario name to delete.)

Edit a scenario: Click "..." as shown in Fig. 1 to go to the
Edit page.
Edit automation: Click anywhere on the background of
automation, as shown in Fig. 1, to go to the Edit page. Go
to the automation edit page shown in Fig. 2. Slide left to
delete previously added conditions or actions, add new
conditions or actions, or delete the smart feature entirely.

The Personal Settings page shows your account
information. Here you can change your password, link your
mobile number to your account, configure your gesture
password, and terminate your account
Click "Gesture Unlock" to set up a gesture password.
Once a gesture password is activated, you will have to
use the gesture to access the app. If you forgot your
gesture password, click "Forgot Gesture Password" to
have an authentication code sent to your registered
mobile phone number. Enter the code and set up a new
gesture password to continue.

long press ON/OFF button for 5~10 seconds to reset the

3.The smart power strip only work with 2.4 GHz network.
If your router broadcasts both 2.4 and 5GHz, please
selected the 2.4GHz network with the app. If connection
still failed, we recommend you call your ISP and had them
completely shut off the 5 GHz network on the router; You
are free to change the network to 5 GHz again after
connecting;
4. Please try to make the smart power strip and router as
close as possible when first connection, you can change
the place after connecting successfully.

If you do not have an app account, you may choose to
register or log in by text message authentication. The
registration process is described on this page and the

privacy policy page. Click Agree to proceed to the
mobile phone number registration page

to select manually a country/region. Enter
your mobile phone number or email and click

Forgot Password
If you forgot your app password, you can reset your
password by following the Password Retrieval procedure
1. Click ‘Forgot Password’, as shown in Fig. 1
2. The system will identify automatically the country/
region you are in, or you may choose to select manually a
country/region. Enter the mobile phone number or email
you used to register and click ‘Get code’, as shown in Fig.

3. Enter the authentication code sent to your mobile phone

4. Enter the new password and click ‘OK’ to log in, as

Household/Member Management
1. When logged in, click ‘Activate Smart Living’ to go to
the "Add Household" page, as shown in Fig. 1
2. "Household Name" can be entered manually, as
necessary. Click "Household Location" to go to the map.
Move the household icon manually to change the address.
Click "OK” to confirm the address, as shown in Fig.2
3. Click "Add Room" to add a room, as shown in Fig.3
Click "OK" at the top right corner to complete room
settings. Room settings can be changed anytime by
clicking on "My Household", as shown in Fig.4

Adding Devices - All Devices
Click "A dd Device" on the app home page or the "+ " sign
at the top right corn er to go to the "All Devices" page,
where devices can be selected and added as necessary
There are two network configuration modes:
Default Mode(Quick mode) and AP Mode(Compatibility
mode) are available for you to choose before adding the
device to app. Default Mode (Quick mode) is recommended.
1. If you configure the network in Default Mode(Quick
mode),please confirm that the device blue indicator is
blinking rapidly (2 times/second), then click the confirm
button to go to the next step.
2. If the blue indicator is not blinking rapidly (once every 3
seconds),then click’How to make indicator rapidly blink’
to see the procedure or press and hold the power button
on the smart plug for about 5 seconds until the indicator
blinks rapidly.
3. Follow the in-app instructions to connect the Smart
device to your WI-FI network.
5.Select the Wi-Fi in the work area of a device that can
enable successful Internet connection, enter the Wi-Fi
password, and click "OK" to proceed to configuration

6. If Default mode(Quick mode) is selected, app
configuration will be completed as shown in Fig. 1.
Successful configuration will appear as shown in Fig. 2.
Names of devices that have been configured successfully
can be changed, and the locations of the rooms where the
corresponding devices are can be selected.

7. Click’Done’,now you can control the smart device
through ‘Smart Life’ App.
8. Once the configuration is completed successfully, the
indicator light will turn to solid red and the device will be
added to the ‘ Device List’.
Default Mode (Quick mode):
AP Mode (Compatibility mode):
1.To select "Compatibility mode",please make sure the
indicator light on the smart device is flashing slowly
(blinking once every three seconds) and then click the
button to proceed to the next step.
2. If it blinks blue rapidly (twice per second),press and
hold the power button on the smart device for 6 seconds
until the indicator light blinks slowly, or click "How to set
indicator light to slow flashing" to view the instructions.
3. Click ‘AP Mode’ at the top right corner will be in AP
mode,

4. When in Compatibility (slow flashing) mode, you can
select hotspot configuration, but connection must be
made with the Wi-Fi hotspot whose name begins with
‘SmartLife’, as shown in the figure
Note: Some hotspot names may be user-defined
If configuration fails, it will appear as shown in the figure.

Open the control panel for devices. For example, Fig. 1
shows the socket is off, and only the timer can be accessed
in the off mode. Fig. 2 shows the light is on,and timer can
be configured in the on mode. Click "..." at the top right
corner of the control panel to manage individual devices.

The device modification menu is shown in the figure:
1. Change basic information: You can change the name
and location of a device.
2. Shared devices: You can share any individual device
with others by entering their mobile phone numbers.
(Note: Their mobile phone numbers must be registered
with Tuya app accounts.)
3. Create group: Click and the page will automatically
show all devices that have been added and have the
same model number. A group cannot
be created for devices with different model numbers.
4. Device information: Check here for: device ID, Wi-Fi
signal strength,IP address, Mac address, and device
time zone.
5. Feedback: You can submit feedback here on problems
encountered during usage.
6. Check for firmware upgrades: You can check here for
firmware updates.
7. Remove device: Delete a previously added device
from the list of devices.
8. Factory reset: Remove devices and clear all data.

One account can manage multiple households at the
same time. The user can operate a device in a household
by selecting it in the household menu.

Troubleshooting and FAQ
1.What should I do after over-load use and
power off ?

With advanced over current protection, the power
will be cut off automatically after over load use.
Please unplug the power plug from the power
socket and remove the over load device from the
power strip, then plug the power plug into the power
socket again after about 60 seconds, the power
strip will be automatically restored to use.

You can control AV equipments(such as TV, DVD,
Stereo, TV satellite),table lamps, portable heaters,
games machines, etc appliances.
Make sure your mobile devices and the smart
power strip are connected to the same Wi-Fi
network.
Make sure the devices connected to the Smart
Power Strip are turned on.
You could:
Check whether the Smart device is powered on or
not.
Check whether your mobile device is connected to
2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
Check your network connectivity. Make sure the r
outer is working properly:
If the router is dual-band router, select 2.4G
network and then add the smart device.
Enable the router’s broadcasting function.
Configure the encryption method as WPA2- PSK
and authorization type as AES, or set both as
auto.
Wireless mode cannot be 11n only.
Check for Wi-Fi interference or relocate the
Smart device to another location within the signal
range.
Check whether the router’s connected devices
reach the amount limit. Please try to turn off
some device’s Wi-Fi function and configure
Smart device again.
Check if router’s wireless MAC filtering function
is enabled. Remove the device from filter list and
make sure the router is not prohibiting Smart
device from connection.
Make sure the password of your Wi-Fi network
entered in App is correct when adding Smart
device.
Make sure the Smart device is in ready for App-
Config: the indicator light is quick blinking blue
(twice per second) for quick mode configuration,
slow blinking blue (once every 3 seconds) for AP
mode configuration.
Repeat the App-Config process.
Factory reset the Smart device and try to add it
again.
The Smart device and the mobile device are
required to be under same Wi-Fi network when
adding the Smart device for the first time. After
successful device configuration, you can remotely
control the device through 2G/3G/4G cellular
network.
