Auto Focusing (only for XF Series)
Auto focusing function is to focus on a target automatically.
This function is provided only for XF Series. XF HP Series does not have this
function.
Set the Auto Focus Mode in the installed application software, and then press
[AF] key
to enable auto focusing. Pressing
[AF] key will drive the focusing lens to an appropriate
position based on the distance measured by the EDM. Therefore the rough sighting
through the optical sight (finder) is necessary beforehand. (For details of the Auto
Focus Mode, refer to the operation manual of the application software.)
For manual focusing, use the telescope focusing ring. The telescope focusing ring can
be used at any time. Once rotating the telescope focusing ring, press
[AF] key again to
enable auto focusing.
Setting the Measurement Mode and Preparing the Target
The instrument has two measurement modes, Prism mode and Reflectorless mode.
Select either mode appropriate for the target to be measured referring to the table
below, and set it by the installed application software.
You can measure any other target not specified for the set measurement mode, if
necessary.
Note – XF Series is Laser Class 1 in the Prism mode and Reflectorless mode, and
Laser Class 2 in Laser pointer function. Don’t sight the Prism when the Laser Pointer
is on.
Note – XF HP Series is Laser Class 1 in the Prism mode, and Laser Class 3R in the
Reflectorless mode and Laser Pointer function. Don’t sight the Prism when the Laser
