No photo is taken
when shutter-release
button is fully
pressed
•Camera is in playback mode.
•Battery is exhausted.
•Number of exposures remaining is zero: not
enough memory remaining.
•Green lamp flickers: camera unable to focus.
•Red lamp flickers: flash is charging.
•Message “MEMORY CARD IS NOT FORMAT-
TED” appears in monitor: memory card is not
formatted for use in COOLPIX5000.
•Message “NO MEMORY CARD” appears in
monitor: no memory card in camera.

•Exposure compensation is too high.
