Optional Flash Units
(Speed
lights)
The accessory shoe allows 5B-series 5peedlights, including
the
5B-400, 5B-800, 5B-600, 5B-80DX, 5B-28DX,
5B-28, 5B-27, 5B-23,
5B-225,
and 5B-295
to
be
mounted
directly
on
the
camera
without
a sync cable. It
is
equipped
with
a safety lock for 5peedlights
with
a
locking pin, such
as
the
5B-800 and 5B-600, which prevents
the
5peedlight from falling
off
accidentally. Before attaching
an
optional flash unit, remove
the
accessory shoe cover. The built-in flash will
not
fire
when
an
optional 5peedlight
is
attached.
When used
with
compatible flash units such
as
the
optional 5B-400, 5B-800, and 5B-600
5peedlights,
the
D60 supports
the
advanced Nikon Creative Lighting 5ystem
(CL5)*,
which
offers a
number
of
features, including i-TIL flash control and
Flash
Color Information
Communication. When
the
optional 5B-800 5peedlight
or
5U-800 Wireless 5peedlight
Commander
is
mounted
on
the
camera,
the
optional 5B-600, a second 5B-800 5peedlight,
or
the
5B-R200
Wireless Remote 5peedlight can be fired remotely.

is
the latest flash control system for
use
with
Nikon Speedlights and cameras. Various features
are
supported, including
Flash
Color Information Communication,
with
which flash
output
color
temperature information
is
automatically transmitted
to
the camera for
use
in
tuning white balance
to
achieve optimal results.
Nikon 5peedlight 58-400
The 5B-400
is
a high-performance flash
unit
with
a
guide
number
of
21/69
(150
100,
m/
ft,20°C/68°F).
The flash head can be rotated
through
90° above
the
horizontal for bounce-flash
photography.
Nikon 5peedlight 58-800
The 5B-800
is
a high-performance flash
unit
with
a guide
number
of
38/125 (at
the
35mm
zoom-head position;
150
100,
m/ft, 20°C/68°F).
The flash head can be tilted 90° up,
r down, 180°
to
the left, and
90°
to
the
right for
bounce-flash or close-up photography.
The 5B-800 supports auto
power
zoom (24-105 mm), ensuring
that
the
angle
of
coverage
is
adjusted in accordance
with
lens focal length, and
has
a built-in wide-flash
adapter
that
increases
the
angle
of
coverage
to
match
that
of
a 14mm or 17mm lens.
The
monitor
and
all
buttons are illuminated
to
simplify operation
in
dark surroundings.
Custom settings can be used
to
enable, disable, or adjust a variety
of
functions.
