II Formatting Memory Cards
Memory cards must be formatted before first use. Format the card
as described below.

Formatting memory cards permanentlydeletes anydata they may contain.
Be sure to copy any photographs and other data you wish to keep to a 1_ ..... 1
computer before proceeding (pg. 238).
1 Turn the camera on. Power switch
2 Press the FO~ buttons.
Hold the F~ (MODE and 00)
buttons down simultaneously
for approximately
two
seconds.

Viewfinder display
A blinking For will appear in
the shutter-speed displays in
the control panel and
viewfinder.
To exit without
formatting the memory card,
wait six seconds (the default
setting) until
