Recording Movies
Movies can be recorded in live view.
1 Rotate
the
live view switch.
The mirror
is
raised and
the
view
through
the lens
is
displayed in the monitor instead
of
the
viewfinder.

that
the
number
of
subjects
that
can be detected in face-
priority
AF
drops during movie recording.
3 Start recording.
Press
the movie-record
button
to
start recording (the
camera can record both video and sound;
do
not
cover
the
microphone on the front
of
the
camera during recording).
A recording indicator and the
time
available are displayed
in
the
monitor. Except in 8 and @ modes, exposure can
be locked by pressing the
AE-UAF-L
button
or (in modes
P,
S,
A,
M,
and~)
altered by
up
to
±3
EV
in steps
of
1/3
EV
using exposure compensation. Note
that
the built-
in microphone may record lens noise during autofocus
and vibration reduction.
Time remaining
4 End recording.
Press
the movie-record
button
again
to
end recording. Recording will end
automatically when the maximum length
is
reached,
the
memory
card
is
full,
another mode
is
selected, the lens
is
removed, or the
monitor
is
closed (closing
the
monitor
does
not
end recording on televisions or
other
external displays).
