11. Using the ND2901 as a Hard Drive
The ND2901 can be connected to your computer for use as an external hard
drive. Connect to the computer’s USB port via the ND2901 "COMPUTER" slot and
the USB cable.
Then you can repartition and reformat the internal hard
drive; to confirm, push the control key downward.
All data on the internal hard drive will be lost!
When the formatting has completed you are ready to
copy data to the internal hard drive.

Users of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 must have Service Pack 2 or
later and install an update to support exFAT. Windows Vista must be Service
Pack 1 or later for exFAT support. The ND2901 cannot be read by any version
of Windows prior to Windows XP.
Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.6 and later can fully access exFAT file system.
A computer can only recognize the internal hard drive of the ND2901.
A computer cannot recognize an External USB hard drive or any memory cards
that are connected to the ND2901. Thus, the ND2901cannot be used as a
memory card reader.
If connecting to the ND2901 via USB, use the back slot of the computer.
The front slot might not be able to process the high speed of the signal.
The ND2901 can be connected to your computer with the super speed
USB3.0 interface (up to 5Gbps) or the high speed USB2.0 interface. If the
ND2901 is connected to a USB2.0 port on your computer, data will be
transferred at USB2.0 speed.
1. Connect via USB
Turn your computer on. Wait until the operating system is completely booted.
Turn your ND2901 on.
Connect the ND2901 "COMPUTER" slot via the USB cable with a free USB 3.0
port on your computer. A USB 2.0 port can also be used.
Check the “PC USB”on the ND2901’s LCD display.
If your computer detects the ND2901 correctly, a new drive named [NEXTODI]
will appear in the “My Computer” display.
