システム セットアップ:
miniStack v2.5 外付けドライブ エンクロージャおよび拡張
ハブは、簡単にコンピュータに接続できます。
この新しい外付けストレージおよび拡張デバイスを最大限
に活用するためのヒントを以下に挙げます。
Mac mini または Apple AirPort Extreme Base •
Station をお持ちの場合、miniStack エンクロ
ージャはこれらの下にぴったり収まるので、
デスク上のスペースを節約いただけます。
miniStack• の後側には通気の妨げにな
る物を置かないでください。
miniStack• はコンピュータと同様に、乾燥した低温
の場所に保管し、直射日光は避けてください。
miniStack• に使用する周辺機器用のケーブルは、
接続する前に損傷がないか常に確認してください。
ハブ接続
USB 2.0 または FireWire (1394a) のいずれかのハブ機能を
利用するには、同梱されているケーブルでコンピュータ
と miniStack v2.5 を接続します。miniStack 側の 3 つの
FireWire ポートのうち 1 つと、Mac mini 側の FireWire コネ
クタを使って、コンピュータとエンクロージャを FireWire
ケーブルで接続します。マシン間の USB 2.0 接続も同様に行
いますが、この場合 miniStack の USB 2.0 アップリンク ポ
ートを使ってコンピュータに接続します。
ハードディスク モード:
Newer Technology miniStack v2.5 エンクロージャでは、
お使いのコンピュータで最高速の接続が検出され、
自動的にその接続を使ってマウントされます。
ファン設定:
miniStack v2.5 には、ドライブ エンクロージャ内の熱温度
を監視する冷却ファンがあり、必要なときにのみ稼動しま
す。ファン速度を変更するための設定調節は必要ありませ
ん。

ンスを得るに
は、miniStack を
FireWire と USB の両
方を使ってコンピュータに接
続することをお勧めします。
USB 2.0 はスループット理論値
が FireWire より高いとされて
いますが、実際のテストでは
FireWire のデータ転送速度が
USB 2.0 より高いことが確認さ
れています。
FireWire と USB の両方を接続
することにより、FireWire の
データ転送速度と USB ハブの
多用途性が可能になります。

Using your Newer Technology miniStack v.2.5
Remove the Newer Technology miniStack v2.5 from its packaging
and examine the back of the enclosure. You will see the following
ports:
Smart Power Switch1. - Used to turn the miniStack on. As
long as the power switch is in the ON position, the mini-
Stack will power on and o with your computer - no need
to shut the enclosure o when done!
Power Receptacle2. - Used to power the miniStack.
USB 2.0 Ports3. - Add USB devices to your miniStack here.
USB Uplink Port4. - Connect your computer to the miniStack
here.
FireWire (1394a) Ports5. - Connect one FireWire port to your
computer using the included cable and have two extra
ports to add peripherals with!
Kensington Security Slot6. - Secure your miniStack to your
desk using a Kensington MicroSaver Security Cable (not
included).
Smart Fan Exhaust Port7. - Warm air is vented from your
miniStack through this port.
Remember -
Your miniStack also
functions as both a
FireWire and a USB 2.0 Hub.
You can hook up your favorite
peripherals using the extra ports
like you would with any other
FireWire or USB hub.
