client/ server, whereas DMZ re- directs all packets ( regardless of services) going
to your WAN I P address t o a part icular LAN client / server.

z DMZ Host: I nput t he I P address of a particular host in your LAN t hat will
receive all t he packet s originally going t o t he WAN port/ Public I P address
above, you need t o give your LAN PC client s a fixed/ static I P address for
DMZ to work proper ly.
z Click “Apply” at the bot tom of t he screen t o save the DMZ configurat ions.
I f t here is a conflict bet ween t he Virt ual Server and t he DMZ set t ing, then
Virtual Server funct ion will have prior it y over t he DMZ function.
6 .8 .2 FTP Privat e Port
FTP privat e port enables user t o setup FTP server which is not using t he
st andard port 21.

6 .8 .3 Virt ual Serve r Set up
Use t he Virtual Server funct ion when you want different servers/ client s in your
LAN t o handle different service/ I nternet applicat ion t ype ( e.g. Em ail, FTP, Web
server et c.) from t he I nternet. Com put ers use num bers called port num bers t o
recognize a particular service/ I nt ernet applicat ion t ype. The Virt ual Server
allows you t o re-direct a part icular service port num ber ( from t he I nt ernet / WAN
