z Physical Address Clone : Your I SP m ay require a particular MAC address
in order for you t o connect t o t he I nt ernet . This MAC address is the PC’s
MAC address t hat your I SP had originally connect ed your I nt ernet
connect ion t o. Type in t his MAC address in t his sect ion to replace t he WAN
MAC address with the MAC address of t hat PC ( you have to be using t hat PC
for t he Clone MAC Address but t on t o work).
z MTU: MTU is t he Maxim um Transm ission Unit . I t specifies t he largest
packet size perm it ted for I nt ernet transm ission. Ent er your MTU num ber in
the t ext- box t o set t he lim it at ion. The recom m ended size, entered in t he
Size field, is 1496. You should leave t his value in t he 1200 t o 1500 range.
z DN S: Check " DNS" and ent er t he I P address to specify DNS ser ver for LAN
DHCP server.
z Click ā€œApplyā€ t o save t hese sett ings wit h t he Router. The Syst em will apply
the new sett ings and start rebooting right away. Aft er reboot, the Wireless
Rout er will enable t hese set tings wit h t he Rout er.
6 .4 .2 PPPoE
Som e DSL- based I SPs use PPPoE ( Point- t o- Point Prot ocol over Ethernet ) to
est ablish I nt ernet connect ions. I f you are connect ed t o t he I nt ernet t hrough a
DSL line, check with your I SP t o see if they use PPPoE. I f t hey do, you will have
to select PPPoE.
