Cha pt er 5 Configur ing Loca l PC t o Access t he
W ireless Rout e r
You can m anage the Wireless Broadband Rout er t hrough t he Web
browser- based configuration ut ilit y. To configure t he device via Web browser,
at least one properly configured com put er m ust be connect ed t o the device via
Et hernet or wireless net work. The Wireless Broadband Rout er is configured
wit h the default I P address of 192.168.10.1 and subnet m ask of 255.255.255.0
and its DHCP server is enabled by default . Before sett ing up t he Rout er, m ake
sure your PCs are configured t o obt ain an I P ( or TCP/ I P) address aut om at ically
from t he Rout er by t he steps below.

St ep 1: Go t o St art Æ Set t ings Æ Cont rol Panel.
St ep 2: Find and double- click the Net w ork icon. The Net work dialog box
appears.
St ep 3: Click the Configuration label and ensure t hat you have network car d.
St ep 4: Select TCP/ I P. I f TCP/ IP appears m ore t han once, please select t he item
that has an arrow “ Æ” point ing t o t he net work card inst alled on your com put er.
DO NOT choose t he inst ance of TCP/ I P wit h the words “ Dial Up Adapt er ” beside
it.
St ep 5: Click Properties. The TCP/ I P Propert ies dialog box appears.
St ep 6: Ensure t he Obtain I P Address Aut om atically is checked.
St ep 7: From t he WI NS Configuration dialog box, Ensure t hat Disable WI NS
Resolut ion is checked.
St ep 8: From t he Gat eway dialog box, rem ove all ent ries from t he I nst alled
gat eways by selecting t hem and clicking Rem ove.
St ep 9: From t he DNS Configuration dialog box, rem ove all ent ries from t he
DNS Server Search Order box by select ing t hem and clicking Rem ove. Rem ove
all ent ries from t he Dom ain Suffix Search Order box by select ing them and
clicking Rem ove. Click Disable DNS.
St ep 10: Click OK, back t o Net work Configurat ion dialog box
St ep 11: Click OK, if prom pt ed t o rest art , click YES.
