Syslog Configuration
To access the Syslog Configuration page, click Monitoring Logs > Syslog Configuration.
1. Use Admin Status to enable/disable logging to configured syslog hosts. Setting this to
disable stops logging to all syslog hosts. Disable means no messages will be sent to
any collector/relay. Enable means messages will be sent to configured collector/relays
using the values configured for each collector/relay. Enable/Disable the operation of the
syslog function by selecting the corresponding radio button.
2. Use Local UDP Port to specify the port on the local host from which syslog messages are
sent.
The default port is 514. Specify the local port in the text field.
Field Description
Messages Received The number of messages received by the log process. This includes
messages that are dropped or ignored.
Messages Relayed The count of syslog messages relayed.
Messages Ignored The count of syslog messages ignored.
3. Use IP Address Type to specify the Address Type of Host. It may be one of the following:
• IPv4
• IPv6
• DNS
4. Host Address -
This is the address of the host configured for syslog.
5. Port -
This is the port on the host to which syslog messages are sent. The default port is
514. Specify the port in the text field.
