Storm Control Global Configuration.
The following three controls provide an easy way to enable or disable each type of packets to
be rate-limited on every port in a global fashion. The effective storm control state of each port
can be viewed by going to the port configuration page.
• Broadcast Storm Control
All - Enable or disable the Broadcast Storm Recovery mode on
all ports by clicking the corresponding radio button. When you specify Enable for
Broadcast Storm Recovery and the broadcast traffic on any Ethernet port exceeds the
configured threshold, the switch blocks (discards) the broadcast traffic. The factory
default is enabled.
• Multicast Storm Control
All - Enable or disable the Multicast Storm Recovery mode on
all ports by clicking the corresponding radio button. When you specify Enable for
Multicast Storm Recovery and the multicast traffic on any Ethernet port exceeds the
configured threshold, the switch blocks (discards) the multicast traffic. The factory default
is disabled.
• Unknown Unicast Storm Control
All - Enable or disable the Unicast Storm Recovery
mode on all ports by clicking the corresponding radio button. When you specify Enable
for Unicast Storm Recovery and the Unicast traffic on any Ethernet port exceeds the
configured threshold, the switch blocks (discards) the unicast traffic. The factory default is
disabled.
