HTTP Configuration
To access the switch over a web page, you must first configure it with IP information (IP
address, subnet mask, and default gateway). You can configure the IP information using any
of the following:
BOOTP
DHCP
T
erminal interface via the EIA-232 port
Once you have established in-band connectivity, you can change the IP information using a
W
eb-based management.
To access the HTTP Configuration page, click Security > Access> HTTP HTTP
Configuration.
To configure the HTTP server settings:
1. Use HTTP Access to specify whether the switch may be accessed from a web browser
.
If you choose to enable web mode you will be able to manage the switch from a web
browser. The factory default is enabled.
2. Use Java Mode to enable or disable the java applet that displays a picture of the switch in
the Device view tab of the System tab. If you run the applet, you will be able to click on the
picture of the switch to select configuration screens instead of using the navigation tree on
the left side of the screen.
The factory default is Enable.
3. Use HTTP Session Soft T
imeout (Minutes) to set the inactivity time-out for HTTP
sessions. The value must be in the range of (1 to 60) minutes. The default value is 5
minutes. The currently configured value is shown when the web page is displayed.
4. Use HTTP Session Hard T
imeout (Hours) to set the hard time-out for HTTP sessions. This
time-out is unaffected by the activity level of the session. The value must be in the range of
(1 to 168) hours. The default value is 24 hours. The currently configured value is shown
when the web page is displayed.
5. Use Maximum Number of HTTP Sessions to set the maximum allowable number of HTTP
sessions.
The value must be in the range of (0 to 16). The default value is 16. The currently
configured value is shown when the web page is displayed.
