Installing and Connecting the Router
This chapter provides instructions for installing the Model RT338 ISDN Router and connecting to
the Manager interface through a serial port or Telnet connection. Refer to Chapter 4, “Initial
Router Configuration” for instructions on using the Manager interface, and other configuration
utilities.
Package Contents
The product package should contain the following items:
• Model RT338 ISDN Router
• DC power adapter, 12 V DC output
• 10-foot Category 5 Ethernet cable, straight-through wiring (white)
• 10-foot Category 5 Ethernet cable, crossover wiring (red)
• 8-pin to 6-pin ISDN cable (black)
• 9-pin RS-232 serial cable
• 9-pin D-connector to 25-pin D-connector adapter
• Model RT338 ISDN Router Installation Guide
• RT338 Resource CD-ROM containing FirstGear, Manual, and Application Notes
• Warranty & Owner Registration card
• Support Information Card
Call your dealer if there are any wrong, missing, or damaged parts. Keep the carton, including
the original packing materials, to repack the router if there is a need to return it for repair.
