System Settings

This chapter describes how to configure the basic settings of the ReadyNAS. It contains the following sections:

Without at least one volume, changes are not saved after you reload the ReadyNAS. Make

sure that you create a volume before you configure the system, network, and global file-sharing

protocol settings, and before you update the firmware.Without a volume, you cannot configure

any shared folders. For information about how to create volumes, see Create and Encrypt a

Volume on page 31.
