Set Up Captive Portals
The captive portal feature allows you to prevent clients from accessing the network until user
verification is established. You can configure captive portal verification to allow access for
both guest and authenticated users. Authenticated users must be validated against a
database of authorized captive portal users before access is granted. The database can be
stored locally on the device or on a RADIUS server.
Configure Captive Portal Global Settings
You can control the administrative state of the captive portal feature, and configure global
settings that affect all captive portals configured on the switch.
To configure captive portal global settings:
1. Launch a web browser

2. In the address field of your web browser
, enter the IP address of the switch.
The login window opens.
3. Enter admin as the user name, enter your local device password,
and click the Login
button.
The first time that you log in, no password is required. However, you then must specify a
local device password to use each subsequent time that you log in.
The System Information page displays.
4. Select Security > Control > Captive Portal > CP Global Configuration.
5. Select the
Admin Mode Disable or Enable radio button.
