Configure the OSPF Stub Area
To configure the OSPF stub area:
1. Launch a web browser
.
2. In the address field of your web browser
, enter the IP address of the switch.
The login window opens.
3. Enter admin as the user name, enter your local device password,
and click the Login
button.
The first time that you log in, no password is required. However, you then must specify a
local device password to use each subsequent time that you log in.
The System Information page displays.
4. Select Routing > OSPF >
Advanced > Stub Area Configuration.
5. Enter the OSPF Area ID.
An area ID is a 32-bit integer in dotted-decimal format that uniquely identifies the area to
which a router interface connects.
6. Configure the Import Summary LSAs by selecting Enable or Disable from the list.
If you select Enable, summary LSAs are imported into stub areas.
7. Configure the Default Cost by entering the metric value to be applied for the default route
advertised to the stub area.
The valid values range from 1 to 16,777,215.
Area LSA Checksum The 32-bit unsigned sum of the link state advertisements' LSA checksums
contained in this area's link state database. This sum excludes external
(LSA type 5) link state advertisements. The sum can be used to determine
if there was a change in a router's link state database, and to compare the
link state database of two routers.
Flood List Length This is the number of LSAs on this area's flood list.
Import Summary LSAs The summary LSAs are imported into this area.
