3. In the address field of your web browser, enter the IP address of the switch.
If you do not know the IP address of the switch, see
Access the switch on-network and
connected to the Internet on page 19 or Access the switch off-network and not
connected to the Internet on page 27.
The Device UI login page displays.
If you did not yet activate your warranty, the Register to activate your warranty page
displays. For more information, see
Register the switch on page 30.
4. Enter one of the following passwords:
Enter your device admin password.
If you previously managed the switch through the Insight app or Cloud portal, enter
the Insight network password for the last Insight network locat
ion.

5. Click the Go
button.
The System Information page displays.
6. Select Switching > VLAN
> Basic > VLAN Configuration.
7. In the VLAN ID field, specify the VLAN identifier for the new VLAN.
The range of the VLAN ID can be from 2 to 4093, excluding 4088. (The default VLANs
are 1 and 4088).
8. In the VLAN Name
field, specify a name for the VLAN.
The VLAN name can be up to 32 alphanumeric characters long, including blanks. The
default is blank. VLAN ID 1 always uses the name Default.
9. The VLAN Type
field displays the type of the VLAN that you are configuring.
The VLAN name can be up to 32 alphanumeric characters long, including blanks. You
cannot change the names of the default VLANs (that is, the VLAN
s with ID 1 and 4088).

When you create a VLAN using this page, its type is always static. A VLAN that is created
by the Generic VLAN Registration Protocol (GVRP) initially uses a type of dynamic. You
can change the type of a dynamic VLAN to static.
