Field Description
Entry The sequence number of the event.
Type The type of the event.
File Name The file in which the event originated.
Line The line number of the event.
Task Id The task ID of the event.
Code The event code.
Time The time this event occurred.
Format of the messages
Messages are displayed in the following format:
• Total number of messages: Number of persistent log messages displayed on the
switch.

This example indicates a user-level message (1) with severity 7 (debug) on a system that is
not a chassis and generated by component MSTP running in thread ID 2110 on Aug 24
05:34:05 by line 318 of file mstp_api.c
. This is the 237th message logged. Messages
logged to a collector or relay through syslog use a format identical to the previous message.
