To configure and view the port settings for an MST instance:
1. Connect your computer to the same network as the switch.
You can use a WiFi or wired connection to connect your computer to the network, or
connect directly to a switch that is of
f-network using an Ethernet cable.
2. Launch a web browser.
3. In the address field of your web browser
, enter the IP address of the switch.
If you do not know the IP address of the switch, see
Discover or Change the Switch IP
Address on page 12.
Your web browser might display a security message, which you can ignore. For more
information, see Access the Local Browser Interface on page 18.
The login window opens.
4. Enter the switch’
s password in the Password field.
The default password is password.
The System Information page displays.
5. Select Switching > STP >
Advanced > MST Port Configuration.
The MST Port Configuration page displays.
If no MST instances are configured on the switch, the page displays a “No MSTs
A
vailable” message.
6. From the Select MST menu, select the MST instance.
You can select only instances that you added to the switch (see
Manage MST Settings
on page 142).
7. Select one or more interfaces by taking one of the following actions:
• T
o configure a single interface, select the check box associated with the port, or type
the port number in the Go To Interface field and click the Go button.
• T
o configure multiple interfaces with the same settings, select the check box
associated with each interface.
• T
o configure all interfaces with the same settings, select the check box in the heading
row.
8. Configure the MST values for the selected interfaces:
• Port Priority.
The priority for a particular port within the selected MST instance. The
port priority is set in multiples of 16. If you specify a value that is not a multiple of 16,
the priority is set to the priority is automatically set to the next lowest priority that is a
multiple of 16. For example, if you set a value between 0 and 15, the priority is set to
0. If you specify a number between 16 and 31, the priority is set to 16. Specify a value
in the range from 0 to 240.
• Port Path Cost. Set the path cost to a new value for the specified port in the selected
MST instance. Specify a value in the range from 0 to 200000000.
