certificates for HTTPS access on page 319 and Use an HTTP session to download and
install an SSL security certificate file on the switch on page 444.
Manage certificates for HTTPS access
You can manage certificates for HTTPS access.
Generate an SSL certificate
Note: Before you can generate a certificate, you must disable HTTPS (see
Configure HTTPS access settings on page 317) and log back in to
the device UI over an HTTP session. After you generate the
certificate, you can reenable HTTPS and log back in to the device UI
over an HTTPS session.
To generate an SSL certificate:
1. Connect your
computer to the same network as the switch.
You can use a WiFi or wired connection to connect your computer to the network, or
connect directly to a switch that is off-network using an Ether
net cable.
2. Launch a web browser.
3. In the address field of your web browser, enter the IP address of the switch.
If you do not know the IP address of the switch, see
Access the switch on-network and
connected to the Internet on page 20 or Access the switch off-network and not
connected to the Internet on page 28.
The Device UI login page displays.
If you did not yet activate your warranty, the Register to activate your warranty page
displays. For more information, see
Register the switch on page 31.
