Recoding
Recoding means the conversion of an existing video with certain properties (e.g. bit rate
2500 kbps) into the same format with different properties (e.g. bit rate 1990 kbps).
Stream or Streaming
Continuous transmission of data, whereby with media streaming the audio and video data is
played back directly upon reception. In computer science streams are continuous sequences
of data records for which the end can not be determined in advance.
