9.2.2.4 Encoding method options
Under Encoding method options you can define settings for quantization and bit rate.
The following input options are available:

Automatically sets the bit rate.
The bit rate is the data transmission speed. It is stated as bit/s
or bps.
Maximum bit rate

Specifies the bit rate.
Enabled only when the Automatically select maximum bit
rate check box is disabled.
9.2.2.5 Multithreading
Nero Recode supports multi-core processors. If you have one of these, you can distribute
the encoding process over the desired number of threads.
The following input options are available:

drop-down menu
Defines whether the encoding process should be performed by mul-
tiple threads. The number of processor cores used corresponds to
the number of threads you have selected. This ensures optimal use
of a multi-core processor system.
9.2.3 Defining audio settings
The following information is listed in the columns on the Video tab:
Property
Shows the properties saved on the DVD, e.g. resolution, frames per sec-
ond, pixel shape and video structure.
Source
Shows the original size.
Target
Shows the target sizes depending on the selected Nero Digital™ profile.
Click the Settings button to open the Properties of Nero Digital™ audio window. Settings
for the audio encoder can be defined here.
The following input options are available:
Nero Digital™ audio profiles area
Automatic settings
(recommended)
radio button
Automatically adapts the audio profiles to the Nero Digital™
profile, so that the quality of the audio track best corresponds to
the output medium.
Custom profile
option button
Activates the combo boxes Audio channels, Mode, Scan rate
and Bit rate.
