5.3.1 Output Settings
The following options are available in the Global output settings area:
Information display
Estimated output
size
Calculates the estimated output size in MB. The size is updated in
real-time if you do any changes.
The following option refers to the Device:
Drop-down menu
Device
Selects the device where you want to play back the output. Several
devices are available like your computer, DVD player, or Xbox.
The selected device defines the list of possible profiles and possible
targets.
Check box
Audio only
Saves the audio part as an audio file. By selecting this check box,
the Profile drop-down menu shows only audio profiles.
The following options refer to the Profile:

Profile
Selects a profile to specify the output format and the recoding
process.
The profiles available depend on the device you have chosen in the
Device drop-down menu. The settings of the profile are displayed in
the expandable Profile Information area. The settings are in
general optimized for the selected output format, but can be changed
using the Edit profile button.

Edit profile
Opens the Edit profile window, where you can change the setting of
the current profile or create a completely new one (see
Edit Profile
Window)51.

Profile Information
Displays information about the currently active profile setting.
The following option refers to the Target:
Input field
Target
Defines the target path for the output. Saves the output (file or folder
structure) to your hard drive, connected device, or network drive.
Specify or change the path using the Browse button.
If you want to burn the video files to a disc, we recommend using
Nero Burning ROM. If you want to make a DVD-Video out of the
video files, we recommend using Nero Video.
