6. Verify the following communications port settings:
• Baud Rate: 19,200 bps (default)
• Data Bits: 8
• Stop Bits: 1
• Parity: None
• Flow Control: Hardware (RTS/CTS)
7. Type one of the following:
• ats0=x (where x = 1, 2, etc.) to automatically answer the incoming call
• ata when receiving a ring message to manually answer the incoming call
8. Press Enter.
9. File transfer can begin when the message CONNECT is displayed.
Sending a Data File - Manually
1. Start HyperTerminal.
2. On the Connection Description window enter a name and choose an icon.
3. Click OK. The Connect To window is displayed.
4. Set the Connect Using field to COMx (where x represents the serial port
connected to your NeoPoint modem).
5. Click OK. The COMx Properties window is displayed.
6. Verify the following communications port settings:
• Baud Rate: 19,200 bps (default)
• Data Bits: 8
• Stop Bits: 1
• Parity: None
• Flow Control: Hardware (RTS/CTS)
7. Click OK.
8. Type atd followed by the phone number (e.g., atd2225558888) on the terminal
window.
9. Press ENTER.
10. When the call has been connected, the message CONNECT is displayed.
