66Chapter 14 . Settings
Manage input methods
• Virtual keyboard: Tap Mange keyboards to select the keyboards you need. Tap the keyboard to
configure the keyboard settings
• Physical keyboard: Tap Physical keyboard and switch on Show virtual keyboard to enable keeping the
virtual board on screen when your phone is connected to a physical keyboard. Tap Keyboard shortcuts
helper to view the available shortcuts in your phone.
• Advanced settings: Tap Advanced and you can configure other input assistances, such as spell checker,
autofill service, personal dictionary, pointer speed and text-to-speak output.
14. 19 Use gestures to open Camera
Go to Settings -> System -> Gestures -> Jump to camera and switch on Jump to camera to quickly open
Camera by pressing the Power button twice from any screen.
14. 20 Date and time
Go to Settings -> System -> Date & time to configure the following settings.
• Automatic date & time: Choose to use automatic network-provided time or GPS-provided time. You can
also turn it off and manually adjust date and time by tapping Set date and Set time.
• Automatic time zone: Turn on the switch to use the network-provided time zone. You can also turn off the
switch to manually adjust the time zone by tapping Select time zone.
• Use 24-hour format: Turn on the switch to enable 24-hour format.
• Date format: Tap to choose a day format for your device.
14. 21 Backup and reset
Backups help ensure that you never lose your data and easily restore your data or switch phones at any time.
You can back up app data, WLAN passwords and other settings to Google servers. Restore your phone to its
factory settings if it crashes or is slow to respond.
Back up your data
1. Go to Settings -> System -> Backup.
2. Switch on Back up to Google Drive to enable your device and app data regularly being saved to the
Google server, including WLAN passwords, contacts, emails, photos, etc.
3. Tap Account to choose the backup account or add a new one.
4. Tap App data and switch on Automatic restore to make your phone restore backed up settings and data
when reinstalling an app.
Restore DRM settings
1. Go to Settings -> System -> Reset options -> DRM reset.
2. Tap DRM reset -> OK to delete all DRM licenses on your device.
Reset network settings
1. Go to Settings -> System -> Reset options -> Reset WLAN, mobile & Bluetooth.
2. Tap RESET SETTINGS to reset all network settings including WLAN, mobile data and Bluetooth settings. If
you have set a screen lock, , you will need to confirm your pattern, PIN, or password first so as to continue.
