Chapter 5 . Messages
Cell Broadcasts
One Cell Broadcast message can reach a large number of terminals at once.
You can go to Messages -> -> Cell broadcasts to view the cell broadcast messages.
You can go to Messages -> -> Settings -> General -> Cell broadcast to set SIM card cell broadcast.
WAP PUSH messages
WAP Push was incorporated into the specification to allow the WAP content to be pushed to the mobile
handset with minimal user intervention. A WAP Push is basically a specially encoded message which includes
a link to a WAP address.
On the Home screen, go to Messages -> -> Settings -> General, check Enable WAP PUSH to enable to
receive WAP PUSH.
SMS Settings
1. Go to Messages -> -> Settings -> Text Message (SMS).
2. You can set the following function:
Request delivery report: Tap to select SIM1 or SIM2, and check the boxes to request a delivery report for
each message you send.
Manage SIM card messages: Touch and hold the text messages on SIM card, you can forward, reply and
delete the message, add the message to bookmark and copy the message to phone memory.
Edit quick text: Type in the text and then tap ADD to add a quick text. Tap a quick text, you can delete it
by tapping DELETE, you can tap EDIT to edit the quick text and then tap OK to save the edit.
SMS Service Center: The number in the SMS center is used to send and receive messages on the SIM
card by the operator. Generally, one operator will fix the SMS center number. Incorrect settings will
result in failure to send SMS messages. You can change the SMS center number by following way: Tap
SMS Service Center, enter the correct SMS center number in the popup box and tap OK.
SMS storage location: Select the SMS storage location as Phone or SIM Card.
Restore default settings: Tap
-> Restore default settings to restore the SMS settings.
MMS Settings
1. Go to Messages -> -> Settings -> Multimedia Message (MMS).
2. You can set the following function:
Group messages: Check this box to send a single message when there are multiple recipients.
Request delivery report: Tap to select SIM1 or SIM2, and check the boxes to request a delivery report for
each message you send.
Request read report: Tap to select SIM1 or SIM2, and check the boxes to request a read report for each
message you send.
Send read report: Tap to select SIM1 or SIM2, and check the boxes to send a read report if requested by
the MMS sender.
Auto-retrieve: Tap to select SIM1 or SIM2, and check the boxes to automatically retrieve messages.
Roaming auto-retrieve: Tap to select SIM1 or SIM2, and check the boxes to automatically retrieve
messages while roaming.
Size Limit: Select the MMS size limit as 100K, 200k or 300K.
Restore default settings: Tap
-> Restore default settings to restore the MMS settings.
Notification Settings
1. Go to Messages -> -> Settings -> Notifications.
