This menu provides configuration of switch management parameters such as user and administrator privilege mode
passwords, browser-based management settings, and management access list.
The following table describes the System Configuration Menu options.

Command Usage
syslog Displays the Syslog Menu.
sshd Displays the SSH Server Menu.
radius Displays the RADIUS Authentication Menu.
tacacs+ Displays the TACACS+ Authentication Menu.
ntp Displays the Network Time Protocol (NTP) Server Menu.
ssnmp Displays the System SNMP Menu.
access Displays the System Access Menu.
watchdog Displays the Watchdog Menu.
date Prompts the user for the system date.
time Configures the system time using a 24-hour clock format.
timezone Configures the time zone where the switch resides. You are
prompted to select your location (continent, country, region) by the
timezone wizard. Once a region is selected, the switch updates the
time to reflect local changes to Daylight Savings Time, etc.
dlight Disables or enables daylight saving time in the system clock. When
enabled, the switch will add an extra hour to the system clock so
that it is consistent with the local clock. By default, this option is
disabled.
idle <1-60> Sets the idle timeout for CLI sessions, from 1 to 60 minutes. The
default is 5 minutes.
This setting affects both the console port and Telnet port.
notice <1-1024 character multi-
line> <'-' to end>
Displays login notice immediately before the “Enter password:”
prompt. This notice can contain up to 1024 characters and new
lines.
bannr <1-80 characters>
Configures a login banner of up to 80 characters. When a user or
administrator logs into the switch, the login banner is displayed. It is
also displayed as part of the output from the
/info/sys/gen
command.
hprompt disable|enable Enables or disables displaying of the host name (system
administrator’s name) in the command line interface.
dhcp Dynamic Host Control Protocol for setting the management IP
address on interface 256 is enabled.You can not configure this
option to be disabled.
rstctrl Enables or disables reset when the panic occurs on the switch
software. The default value is
enabled.
