Regulatory and Safety Notices
Be sure to erase the data stored in HDD to prevent the leakage of sensitive data, such as customer data, to
any third parties. NEC assumes no liability for data leakage. Data seems to be erased when you empty
"Recycle Bin" of Windows or run the "format" command of the operating system. However, the actual data
remains on the hard disk drive. Data not erased completely might be restored by special software and used
for unexpected purposes.
Bundled software
Observe the following precautions when transferring the server to a third party.
•
Transfer the bundled software together with the server.
•
All provided discs and documents must be transferred and no backup copies must be retained.
•
Transfer requirements listed in the "Software License Agreement" that comes with software
must be satisfied.
•
Bundled software on client PC must be uninstalled before transferring.
Disposal of server and consumables
Dispose of the server, accessories, HDDs, DVDs, optional board, and batteries according to laws and
regulations of the central and/or local government. For details about how to discard (and replace) the
battery installed in this product, contact your sales representative.
1.6 Regarding the transportation of this server
This server and/or some of the associated optional devices uses lithium metal batteries or lithium ion
batteries. Regulations for air/ocean transportation apply when transporting lithium batteries. Conform
to the regulations if you want to transport this server or optional devices by air or ship.
1.7 Handling precautions
Be sure to observe the following precautions for the proper functioning of the server. Ignoring the
precautions may cause server malfunction or failure.
•
Do not use any cell phone or PHS and switch off them near the server. Electric waves from such
devices can cause server to malfunction.
•
Install the server in an appropriate place. For details about the installation location, refer to
Installation and Connection in User's Guide.
•
If a peripheral device is not a hot-plug device, make sure that the server is off and unplug the
power cord before connecting/removing cables to/from peripheral devices.
•
Connect the provided power cord to a 100/200 VAC outlet.
